Carson City man arrested for battery, admits pushing Uber driver for refusing service dog

A 50-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday for misdemeanor battery after allegedly pushing an Uber driver to the ground causing injury, a sheriff's report states.

According to the booking report, deputies were called to the 1300 block of North Carson Street at 3:53 p.m. Deputies met with the suspect, who explained his roommate ordered an Uber for both of them and when the Uber driver arrived he wouldn't let them in the vehicle because the roommate had a service dog. He said the driver wouldn't allow the service dog in the vehicle.

The suspect said his roommate left and went back to their room. The suspect said he became upset with the Uber driver and kicked the rear passenger door of the vehicle. The suspect said that the driver got out of the vehicle and began yelling at him. This made the suspect angry and that is when he pushed the Uber driver, causing him to fall to the ground. The suspect said the driver never touched or threatened him, the arrest report states.

A witness to the altercation provided a statement and said she saw the suspect kick the vehicle and then push the driver to the ground, according to the report.

A deputy observed a minor abrasion to the right elbow of the driver and some swelling on the driver's hands. He declined medical attention but said that the man did push him to the ground, that he fell back on this right hand and elbow and that he wanted to press charges on the suspect. Bail: $1,137.

In other arrests:
— A 33-year-old Utah man, Jacob Andrew Pacheco, was booked into Carson City Jail Monday on a fugitive from justice warrant and a parole and probation violation.

The fugitive from justice warrant was issued out of Placer County, Calif., alleging second degree burglary of a vehicle, fraudulent use of an access card, unlawful use of personal identification information and conspiracy to commit a crime.

Bail was set at $50,000. Due to him being discharged from Warm Springs Correctional Center that same day, and being served with the warrant, he was placed on a no-bail hold. He is awaiting extradition to Placer County.

Three California women were arrested Sunday at the Carson City MAC for gross misdemeanor indecent exposure charges after going topless at a Bernie Sanders campaign rally.

Two of the women, ages 48 and 27, were listed as being from Oakland, Calif., and the third woman, 19, was listed as being from San Diego, Calif.

According to the arrest report, at around 12:30 p.m. a deputy observed commotion behind Sanders and observed people climbing over a barricade behind Sanders.

Deputies observed one of the women grab the microphone away from Sanders and began to talk and two females, who were topless on stage, began to pour an unidentified pink substance from milk cartons over their heads.

They were escorted off stage. All three females had writing on their bodies and all three were topless. They were arrested for suspicion of indecent exposure, a gross misdemeanor, with a bail of $2,500 each.

The three women were identified as animal rights activists who were protesting Sander's support of the dairy industry. Go here for original story.

— A 27-year-old man, Christopher Butts, was arrested Saturday, 5:25 p.m. in the area of Highway 50 and Lompa Lane for a felony parole and probation warrant with an underlying charge of alleged robbery with a weapon, according to the arrest report. He was held without bail in lieu of a hearing.

— A 27-year-old Carson City man, Tyler Michael Charles, was arrested Saturday, 10:02 a.m. for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, possession of a dangerous drug without a prescription and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail: $6,137.

— A 57-year-old Carson City man, Donald Ray Delony, was booked into jail Sunday, 5:56 p.m. for a felony parole and probation violation hold, and a misdemeanor warrant.

— A 39-year-old Dayton man was arrested Monday in the 1200 block of South Carson Street for a misdemeanor failure to appear warrant issued July 31, 2019 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $215.

— A 27-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Monday, 9:27 p.m. in the area of Desatoya and Woodside for a misdemeanor warrant issued out of Churchill County. Bail: $825.
