Carson Valley Medical Center Great Outdoors Health Fair Oct. 20
Carson Valley Medical Center has moved its annual community health fair to the middle of autumn, with this year’s event scheduled to take place Oct. 20 from 9 a.m. to noon on its main campus, 1107 Highway 395 N in Gardnerville.
Free flu vaccinations will be offered during this year’s fair, along with a variety of free health screenings including glucose testing, peripheral artery disease screenings (Ankle-Brachial Index), blood pressure checks, Body Mass Index readings and more.
The fair will also be a drop-off site for the October Prescription Drug Roundup. Unused or expired prescription drugs, over-the-counter pills, prescription liquids and pet medications will be accepted for disposal.
Douglas County’s Community Emergency Response Team will be on hand providing hands-only CPR training. Care Flight, East Fork Fire Protection and Douglas County Sheriff’s Office will have equipment on site, including DCSO’s Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected vehicle.
