The 2020 Jazz & Beyond Music and Art Festival will include the second annual Carson City Open Studios Tour with multiple locations. Hosted by the Carson City Classic Cinema Club, the Brewery Arts Center is holding a drive-in movie showing of the 1950s classic “Shane” on Saturday. Combined with live music and plenty of dancing, it will be a weekend for all to enjoy! Read on for more information.

It will start at Mills Park (Seely Loop entrance) off of Saliman. Cars, trucks, motorcycles and even horse and buggy are welcome, all makes, years and styles, "ALL ARE WELCOME". Carson City couple held for burglary after former roommate's checks, tax documents found

The route will begin at the Tanglewood Apartments near the CHS tech center, drive through Mills Park and then wherever people are safely gathering.
Mills Park pickleball court project in Carson City complete and open for play

This phase consists of four dedicated pickleball courts with permanent nets, installed on the westernmost of the two asphalt-base tennis courts.

Due to our COVID-19 challenges, these tryouts are ONLY for new players/teams who did not play for CFC last season. Existing teams/players do not need to tryout.
Ages: U8-U15. All boys & girls born in 2006-2013
Players only need to tryout 1 day

Column: Be courteous to the combat vet this Fourth of July

I'm not a combat veteran, or a military veteran of any stripe for that matter, and that movie still gives me chills each time I see it.
I believed it when some veterans reported experiencing emotional flashbacks while viewing "Saving Private Ryan" on the big screen. The film's combat scenes were so disturbing that they triggered post-traumatic stress reactions from those who had lived through the real thing.
Pickleball court to be added at Mills Park, temporary closures ahead for tennis court improvements

The group will be donating the funds to the Foundation for Carson City Parks and Recreation for court surface repairs and the conversion of one tennis court to a pickleball court.

Carson City Senior Judge John Tatro presided over the hearing of Kahlil Deshaun Williams, who is being accused of kidnapping, attempted sexual assault of a minor under 14, lewdness with a minor under 14, and false imprisonment.

According to the report, Kahlil Deshawn Williams was arrested after deputies were dispatched to a convenience store on Hot Springs Road for a kidnapping.
