Heading into the weekend, there’s a bevy of events around the Carson City region over the next three days, including the Carson City Fair, Karson Kruzers Run What Cha Brung car show, a fundraiser bike ride, cooking classes, tours at the Nevada State Museum, train rides on Saturday and much more!

More of the same weather wise is headed our way as we round the corner going into Thursday, July 25, 2019. Activities around the Carson City area feature a Muscle Powered hike along a portion of the Tahoe Rim Trail, Status of Women in Northern Nevada conference at the Carson Nugget, a lecture series at the Carson City BRIC, Freedom Fest Carson City GOP Barbecue at Glen Eagles, Thursday Cruise Night at Max Casino, plus afternoon and evening presentations on the Apollo Lunar Mission at the Nevada State Museum. There will be a Women Veteran's Support Group meeting in Carson City. The first meeting is Sunday, July 28, 2019 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Mills Park near the Marv Teixeira Pavillion. For information contact Lyndia at 775-431-0534.

Karson Kruzers will host its 34th "Run What Cha Brung" car show beginning Friday, July 26 at Max Casino in Carson City with events the following day at Mills Park.

Long time political activist and former Carson City Republican Vice Chairman Aaron Sims officially kicked off his campaign for mayor of Carson City Saturday morning at the firefighters memorial at Mills Park.

The 17th annual National Night Out, hosted by the National Association of Town Watch and the Carson City Sheriff's Office, will be held Tuesday, August 6, 2019 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Mills Park, Carson City, Nevada.

A fundraiser is being held for local Carson City man John "JT" Tomaroy, who was involved in a head-on collision while coming home from Las Vegas, and he is now in critical condition at Renown.

A "Show and Shine" fundraiser will be held to raise funds for JT and his family on Sunday, July 28 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Seeley Loop of Mills Park, located at 1111 East Williams Street.

There will be raffles, food and music and awards for the top five. Registration is $20, and all proceeds will be given to the family.

As we head into the final stretch of the week, events around the Carson City region are lined up for the next three days, including museum activities, outdoor concerts, a car cruise Friday at Carson Mall, athletic events, a Carson High School class of 1979 reunion, the Taste of Downtown on Saturday and much more.

The public is invited to join us for the official campaign Kickoff for Aaron Sims who will be declaring his candidacy for Mayor of Carson City.

This event will be a barbecue and a speaking engagement. We will have good food and music. It is Saturday, July 20.

The event will be held at the Firefighters Memorial on the East side of Mills Park. Entrance is just off of Saliman Rd across from the high school. We are asking for an RSVP which you can do by following the link to the facebook event at the bottom.

Doors open at 11:30AM and the event will start at noon.

A 20-year-old Carson City man was arrested in the area of Siskiyou and Selby for suspicion of DUI, parking in a prohibited place, “driving on right half of highway,” and underage consumption of alcohol, a sheriff's office report states.

A plethora of rides, games and prizes filled Mills Park in Carson City on Friday during the annual RSVP July 4 Celebration and Carnival.

Heading into the Independence Day holiday weekend, there’s a bevy of activities around the Carson City region to keep the next three days jam-packed with excitement.

The Fourth of July in Carson City is something special, full of festive cheer, fun and excitement.

From train rides to a carnival midway, Independence Day in the Nevada state capital is about more than fireworks.

Pyrotechs will be plying their craft tonight at Mills Park around 9:30 p.m. Please keep pets indoors and leave the fireworks to authorized professionals.

Visitors and residents of Carson City were treated Thursday morning to patriotic music and a public reading of the Declaration of Independence by the Sons of the American Revolution, Battle Born Patriots Chapter, at the Nevada State Museum.

The Fourth of July will be colored with parades, barbecues, carnivals, concerts and plenty of fireworks around Carson City, Carson Valley, Lake Tahoe and Virginia City.

The Nevada State Museum in Carson City will be open with regular hours on the Fourth of July and has a busy month planned with a host of events revolving around the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing. The Nevada Railroad Museum is also open July 4 offering a parade of trains, rides and more.

With fire danger a threat throughout Nevada, local, state and federal agencies are reminding citizens that igniting, discharging or using fireworks is prohibited on Bureau of Land Management and Forest Service lands and within the city limits.

As we go forward and move ahead into Tuesday, July 2, 2019 we're looking at another sunny day, all the better as we prepare to celebrate Independence Day.
