Board of Supervisors meeting to discuss purchasing $90,000 worth of wireless microphones

Seventy two players from all around northern Nevada gathered at the Carson City MAC Saturday, August 3, for good play, new friendships and to raise money towards building dedicated outdoor pickleball courts in the Carson City area.

Carson City celebrates safety, community at 2019 National Night Out

Hundreds of families packed the green belt at Mills Park Tuesday night to celebrate Carson City’s commitment to public safety during the 17th annual National Night Out.

The community event in the heart of Carson City was filled with music, games, activities, food and informational booths for kids and adults.

National Night Out, film classic at BAC, fitness events and more Tuesday around Carson City

Heading into Tuesday Aug. 6, which means the safest family celebration of the year at the 17th annual Carson City National Night Out. This is an event like no other, where agencies who work in areas of public health and safety gather at Mills Park to meet with Carson City residents. This event features 3 hours of information booths, games, demonstrations, food and fun. Also happening Tuesday is a free robotics mini-camp for kids in nearby Silver City, Reciprocity Inc. will host a fundraiser at Rustically Divine, there's the Culinary Traveler’s Club's Polynesian Paradise featured at Bleu Café; the Carson City Classic Cinema Club will feature a Sci-Fi favorite at the BAC, plus fitness outings and more. Carson City Pokemon Go group brings more than 150 enthusiasts to Mills Park

The Pokémon Go Carson City group joined forces with Fallon, Fernley, Sparks, Reno and South Lake Tahoe Pokémon Go groups to hold the first Northern Nevada All Community Day event — and the biggest community day yet for Carson City — bringing more than 150 enthusiasts to Mills Park on Saturday for competition and prizes, food and family fun.

National Night Out, one of Carson City’s largest summer celebrations, is returning Tuesday, Aug. 6 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Mills Park for its 17th year. And by all indications, it will be the biggest yet.

National Night Out is a way for residents to meet those who serve and protect our community as well as agencies that provide services, especially in areas of public health and safety. Agencies such as Search and Rescue, Health and Human Services, Care Flight, Advocates to End Domestic Violence, Carson City Sheriff’s Office, Carson City Fire Department, Nevada Highway Patrol, Department of Wildlife, agency advocates and dozens more.
