A 29-year-old man was arrested Monday for suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and a department of alternative sentencing violation, a Carson City sheriff's deputy report states.

Early Voting for the Democratic Presidential Caucus will be held at the Dayton Senior Center Saturday, Feb. 15 only from 10am to 6pm. Nevada's Democrats will have an opportunity to cast early votes for up to five candidates, in preference order, who are still in the running for delegates to the county, state and national conventions that will select the Democratic nominee for November's presidential election. Capitol FFA traveled to North Valleys High School Feb. 1 in order to compete in the Northern FFA Zone Competition. Heading into the Super Bowl weekend, there’s a bevy of activities around the Carson City region over the next three days. Events include the monthly downtown Carson City wine walk, plus karaoke at Bella Vita Bistro and Y-NOT Saloon. The Forest Service begins its first “Ski With a Ranger” at Lake Tahoe’s Heavenly Mountain Resort on Friday. Combined with championship football festivities on Sunday, the Silver State is in store for a wild, good time.

Join us for our first breakfast meeting of the year featuring president and founder of the Desert Pigs, Phil Wooley. The Desert Pigs are a regional all-volunteer group who venture out into the surrounding desert and pick up the mountains of trash left by irresponsible parties. The group has inspired the Dayton area and beyond with their dedication and hard work!

On Sunday, Jan. 26, 2020, at approximately 7:43 p.m., Nevada Highway Patrol troopers were dispatched to a serious injury crash involving a pedestrian on US-50 and Mark Twain Avenue in Dayton.

CARSON CITY — Single lane closures will take place on eastbound U.S. 50 west of Dayton Jan. 30 as the Nevada Department of Transportation repairs parts of a roadway barrier damaged in a crash.

A Go Fund Me account has been established for a Dayton man who was fatally struck in a pedestrian crash as he was returning home on an ATV on Highway 50. The incident is currently being investigated by the Nevada Highway Patrol.
