Go Fund Me page established for family of Dayton man killed in Highway 50 pedestrian crash
A Go Fund Me account has been established for a Dayton man who was fatally struck in a pedestrian crash as he was returning home on an ATV on Highway 50. The incident is currently being investigated by the Nevada Highway Patrol.
The Go Fund Me page is for John Jones and can be found here.
The page was established by family friend Danielle Hull. It states:
"On the evening of January 26, 2020, John was heading home on his ATV in Dayton Nevada and was fatally struck by a vehicle on Highway 50 E. This tragic accident has left the family with not only the burden of losing a loved one so suddenly, but also expenses that are unforeseen. This fundraiser is to help alleviate the financial stress from his wife.
All funds will go directly to Marci to help with mortgage, bills, and memorial costs. Our hearts are very heavy at this time and pray Marci and their family get through this as less financially burdened as possible. Thank you so much for your donations and Memorial information will be updated soon.
According to NHP the victim was on an ATV and for an unknown reason he was dismounted from the ATV and struck by two vehicles. The drivers of the two vehicles pulled over. NHP is investigating that the ATV driver was initially hit earlier by a vehicle, that fled the scene and that the victim was hit again by the two other vehicles (which then stopped.) According to an NHP spokeswoman, investigators have made contact with the driver of a burgundy vehicle that had been sought as part of the investigation.
We will provide an update as information becomes available.
