Carson City arrests: Pair jailed for drugs face new charges after stolen credit cards recovered
A pair arrested Tuesday for drug possession and other charges, face additional felony charges after investigators recovered stolen credit cards and identification, a Carson City sheriff's deputy said.
Chelsea Maria Guerrero, 21, and Johnnie Ray Erwin IV, 25, both of Markleeville, Calif., each face additional felony charges of possession of stolen credit cards and identification of three victims, according to the arrest report. Bail amounts for the charges are $5,000 each to be added to their bail amounts from Tuesday’s booking.
According to the arrest report, a deputy was assigned to the area near Moffat Park for an abandoned trailer reported in the area. The officer arrived and saw the trailer in the parking lot with expired registration and marijuana smoke coming from within the vehicle.
The deputy made contact with the occupants and asked about the marijuana with Erwin saying he didn’t know what the officer was talking about, the arrest report states. Both did not answer further questions and remained silent. The two were arrested and a backpack was searched.
Along with the narcotics recovered, the officer located two confirmed stolen credit cards, a Social Security card and two Nevada identification cards. The deputy wasn’t able to confirm any of the victims of the cards until Wednesday.
In other arrests:
— A 19-year-old Carson City man was arrested Wednesday, 8:15 p.m. in the 1300 block of North Edmonds for suspicion of misdemeanor domestic battery. According to the arrest report, a deputy was assigned to a keep the peace call after the suspect had been kicked out of a residence and he wanted to remove his belongings.
The deputy met with the victim who asked him if he was there because she was pushed. The deputy replied he had not been informed of that occurring. The victim explained that she and her ex-boyfriend were arguing and the man shoved her into the kitchen counter. She showed the deputy bruising that was consistent to the height of the counter.
The deputy spoke with the suspect who said he didn’t push her and denied any physical interaction between the two. The officer determined the man to be the primary aggressor and he was arrested. Bail: $1,137.
— A 25-year-old Carson City man was arrested Wednesday, 8 p.m. in the 200 block of Sage Street for three misdemeanor counts violation of bail conditions, violation of a suspended sentence, and driving on a suspended or revoked license. Bail: $4,637.
— A 27-year-old Mound House woman was arrested Wednesday, 6:56 p.m. at Walmart in the 3200 block of Market Street for misdemeanor suspicion of petit larceny and violation of bail conditions. According to the arrest report, the woman stole a pair of men’s shoes and a door lock and attempted to leave the store without paying. Bail: $3,352.
— A 31-year-old Dayton man was booked into jail Wednesday, 8 p.m. for a misdemeanor failure to appear traffic warrant issued Sept. 15, 2016 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $955.
