Also, weather and conditions permitting, the Tahoe Fire and Fuels Team will continue widespread prescribed fire operations this week in the Lake Tahoe Basin.

Prescribed pile burning today south of Carson City below Spooner, smoke may be visible

Smoke may be visible from Highway 50, as well as from the Carson Valley.

Carson City dispatch notes it has been receiving numerous calls from citizens reporting a fire. The fire is a controlled burn done by the property and was, earlier, putting up a heavy amount of smoke.

Carson City Fire Department to conduct prescribed burns in Voltaire Canyon area

House fire reported in the area of Sandstone Drive near College Parkway
Submitted by Kelsey Penrose on Fri, 12/18/2020 - 4:35pmA structure fire was reported at 3:30 p.m. in the 300 block of Sandstone near Cinnabar and Diamond.
First responders from Carson City as well as Truckee Meadows fire are enroute to the scene.
According to dispatch a neighbor called stating that flames and smoke could be seen from the residence.
Contact was made with the homeowner who stated no one should be inside the residence.
