Carson City Sheriff's arrest log: One busted for DUI alcohol Friday night
A 73 year-old Carson City man was arrested at 6:50 p.m. in the 1400 block of South Carson Street for misdemeanor driving under the influence (DUI) alcohol, a Carson City Sheriff's deputy reported.
According to the arrest report, a Sheriff's deputy responded to a call about an unwanted vehicle parked in front of a downtown Carson City business.
The reporting party met with the officer and said the vehicle had just left, heading south. She told the deputy that she had observed the driver leaving a bar, the report said.
The deputy eventually caught up to the suspect vehicle, which rolled through a stop sign and stopped in the crosswalk before continuing.
A traffic stop was made and the deputy contacted the driver, who exhibited a strong odor of alcohol, the report said.
The driver had difficulty standing on his own, so the officer had him sit on the rear of the patrol vehicle bumper. A brief check of the suspect's eyes showed he had difficulty tracking the officer's finger, the report said.
Full field sobriety testing (FST) showed signs of impairment, including horizontal gaze, walking and turning, as well as the one-leg stand.
A preliminary breath test (PBT) was administered, showing breath-alcohol content (BAC) of .146 percent, the report said.
At that point, the suspect was handcuffed and taken into custody, transported to the Carson City Jail for booking. Bail: $1,244.
