Carson City deputies make arrests for illegal possession of prescription pills, trespassing
A 23-year-old Carson City man was arrested in the 2200 block of Columbia Way for suspicion of four counts gross misdemeanor possession of a dangerous drug without prescription, a sheriff's deputy report said.
According to the police report, deputies were dispatched to the area Friday afternoon for a man who was seen stumbling around the street stating he was not okay.
When deputies arrived, they found the man on the sidewalk; when he saw deputies, he turned around and attempted to walk away, and stumbled several times while crossing the street. Deputies made contact with the man and asked him to sit down, which he complied, the report states.
Deputies asked him if he was okay, and he said yes. They asked if he needed medical attention, and he said no. He had thick and heavy speech, his eyes were bloodshot and glossy and as he spoke, he lost track of what he was saying, the report states.
Deputies noted he had track marks on his arm, and asked when he had last used heroin. He said he had last used at 7. During the conversation, the man lost consciousness multiple times and deputies had to wake him up by physically touching his arm.
Deputies determined he was at risk to himself and took him into civil protective custody for his own safety. While removing a beer can from his pocket, deputies felt what appeared to be a syringe. Deputies asked if he had any needles on him, and he said yes.
As deputies carefully removed the needle from his pocket, three pills fell out. Deputies asked what they were, and he said Seroquel. In his backpack, deputies located a fourth white pill. He did not have any prescription bottles on him.
At the jail, deputies determined that three of the pills were Quetiapine Fumarate 400mg, and one was a Trazodone Hydrochloride 100mg, all prescription only. He was booked on four counts of possessing a dangerous drug without a prescription. Bail: $10,000.
