Carson City's 'Bank Saloon' announces local restauranteur as new operator for the historic, long-awaited bar
Nevada Builders Alliance, owner of the Bank Saloon building in Carson City, have announced that Mangia Tutto owner Richard Bragiel will be the new operator of the historic location.
The bar, which is scheduled to open in October 2020, has undergone extensive renovations since it was purchased by the Builders Alliance in 2018. The commercial brokerage of NAI Alliance Carson City was the listing agent and secured the tenant. For more information on the Bank Saloon visit www.banksaloonnv.com.
With over 30 years of management experience in food, beverage and hospitality industries, Richard Bragiel will officially take over operations at Bank Saloon upon its opening.
Bragiel opened his first restaurant in 1992 outside of Chicago before moving to Las Vegas where he spent 14 years working in various restaurants and casinos.
After moving to Carson City in 2015, Bragiel and his wife Catherine opened Mangia Tutto in 2018, an Italian-style restaurant which brings Chicago favorites such as the signature ‘deep-dish’ pizza to Carson City. Now, Bragiel will operate Bank Saloon which will serve Nevada-themed craft cocktails, fine wine and spirits in a unique and elegant experience.
“I am very honored and excited to be part of such an amazing project and to contribute to the impressive history of this property,” said Bragiel. “From my first meeting with Aaron West of the Nevada Builders Alliance, we were on the same page as to the conceptual design and operation for Bank Saloon and I’m looking forward to bringing that vision to life.”
“We are incredibly excited to work with Richard and his team, utilizing his experience, knowledge of the community and commitment to Carson City’s downtown to make this a success,” said Aaron West, CEO of Nevada Builders Alliance. “We’d like to thank everyone that expressed interest in this project and the ongoing sense of collaboration from Carson City and the community as a whole. We look forward to enhancing the Carson City experience by providing Bank Saloon as a community asset and destination.”
The bar’s design is focused on revitalizing the property, formerly ‘Jack’s Bar’ as Bank Saloon, how it originally opened in 1899 and will include a full-service bar, patio seating and a separate conference room for meetings or private events.
With the help of Frame Architecture and Miles Construction, Nevada Builders began renovating the building, which is on the National Registry of Historic Buildings, in early April of 2019. Bank Saloon is set for an October grand opening and is located at 418 S. Carson Street.
