The Brewery Arts Center’s Flatbed Concert Series brings 14k to Northridge, Mark Twain neighborhood
The Brewery Arts Center will deliver live music directly to the citizens of Carson City while practicing social distancing once again this week.
Miles Construction Company has generously donated the use of a Flatbed Truck and with financial support from The Change Companies, the Nauman Foundation, and Carson Tahoe Hospital, the BAC will place musicians and bands on the flatbed and drive them through the streets and neighborhoods of Carson City throughout June and July.
This Saturday, June 27, the BAC is proud to present 14K, an Acoustic Soul Duo lead by Guitarist and Songwriter Dave Berry and Drummer/Vocalist Cliff Porter of the National touring Funk, Rock and Soul Band Jelly Bread. The Duo takes you on a Singer/Songwriter Journey about Life and Struggles of a Musician, all while making you laugh at some of the stories they tell. These two wear their hearts on their sleeves, and bare it all through Song.
The flatbed stage will be leisurely driving throughout the neighborhoods by Northridge and Mark Twain Elementary School area from 6pm to 9pm this Saturday, June 27. The BAC strongly encourages social distancing and especially wearing masks when they stop by the larger, open spaces and parks to perform a few songs. The BAC will be giving out art kits to the kids provided by Southwest Gas Company and even face masks if you need one.
Executive Director, Gina Lopez says “We love bringing live music to our community in any way possible but with the current spike in COVID-19 cases in our state and the Governor’s face mask mandate, we ask that you please wear a mask when you come to a public space to listen to live music. Otherwise, we will be forced to discontinue this series. We would hate to stop now, this has truly been and fun and fulfilling creative solution during these unusual times.”

The neighborhoods and artists will change each week. The BAC will now be doing a Flatbed Concert for 4th of July since there will not be fireworks. For more information on all of these opportunities, contact the Brewery Arts Center at gina@breweryarts.org .
