A Carson City man wanted on multiple felony warrants including allegations of robbery and assault with a deadly weapon was arrested Wednesday by the Carson City Sheriff’s Office Special Enforcement Team.
Garrett John Hatch was taken into custody at 4:01 p.m. in the 1000 block of Woodside Drive. He also faces two felony warrant counts of release conditions violations and felony suspicion of possession of a controlled substance after officers found methamphetamine with his property that was taken into inventory, according to the booking report.
A 26-year-old South Lake Tahoe woman with him was also arrested on a misdemeanor warrant issued out of Tahoe Justice Court in Douglas County. She is being held without bail in lieu of a hearing.
According to the arrest report, a deputy assigned with the Special Enforcement team was patrolling in an unmarked car. At 3:57 p.m. the officer was in the area of an apartment complex at 1087 Woodside Drive. He observed Hatch standing outside of an apartment with two females. The deputy knew the man had four felony warrants issued out of Carson City District Court, including warrants for robbery and assault with a deadly weapon. The officer knew the man was an ex-felon for battery with a deadly weapon.
The deputy approached the three and gave commands to lay face down on the ground. All the subjects complied. Deputies arrived on scene. The two women were detained and dispatch confirmed Hatch had the four felony warrants, the arrest report states. The 26-year-old South Lake Tahoe woman was arrested for the misdemeanor warrant and the third female was released without incident.
