Carson City arrests: Man jailed for allegedly distributing intimate images

A 36-year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday, March 31, at 3:44 p.m. at the Carson City Courthouse on an outstanding felony warrant out of the Carson City Justice Court alleging unlawful distribution of intimate material, a Carson City Sheriff's deputy said.

According to the report, Christopher Logan was detained by a court officer and handed over to a sheriff's deputy, who escorted him to the Carson City Jail for booking. Bail: $10,000.

In other arrests:
— A 35 year-old Citrus Heights, Calif., man was arrested Friday night, March 25, at 8:04 p.m. in the 3900 block of U.S. Highway 50 East for suspicion of multiple felony and misdemeanor offenses, a Carson City Sheriff's deputy said.

Charles Kempvanee was taken into custody for felony possession of a controlled substance as well as misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, unlawful use of marijuana in public, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, the report said, after a sheriff's deputy observed a blue Ford pickup truck on the property of a business with a young female and an older male reclined in the vehicle.

The deputy noted that the license plates had been expired for three years, and the front left tire was missing. As he approached the pickup, the minor female passenger exited the vehicle and approached the deputy, who observed her to have red, watery eyes and wide-open eyelids, the report said.

The deputy observed that she appeared scared. The female explained the pickup suffered a flat tire en route to Dayton.

The deputy then approached the driver side of the pickup and Kempvanee opened the driver side door to speak with law enforcement. A fog of smoke was seen coming from the cab of the pickup along with an overwhelming smell of burnt marijuana, the report states.

Kempvanee was placed in handcuffs and the deputy performed a pat-down, which found a marijuana pipe.

A K-9 unit was then used to perform both exterior and interior sniffs of the pickup. That detection resulted in positive alerts to the driver side door and center console inside the cab, the report said. Subsequent search discovered a burnt marijuana joint, lighter, marijuana grinder and a small orange container with trace amount of a white crystalline substance that later tested presumptive positive for methamphetamine.

Kempvanee was transported to the Carson City Jail, where he was booked. The minor female was picked up by a family friend. Bail: $2,500.

— A 34-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Friday afternoon, March 25, at 4:11 p.m. in the 1100 block of Coral Way on multiple offenses, a Carson City sheriff's deputy said.

Meghann Adams was taken into custody for suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance, gross misdemeanor child neglect and endangerment, as well as misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, suspended vehicle registration, and violation of Department of Alternative Sentencing (DAS) conditions, the report said.

According to the report, a sheriff's deputy made a traffic stop on a green Ford sport utility vehicle after a registration check came back suspended.

Upon making the stop and approaching the driver side of the vehicle, the deputy made contact with Adams, who was recognized from previous drug investigations for heroin and methamphetamine, the report said.

An adult female passenger and a minor child were also noted to be in the vehilce with Adams, the report said. Due to the suspect's behavior during questioning, the deputy inquired about any drugs inside the vehicle. Adams denied this. She then consented to a K-9 sniff.

The K-9 detection showed a positive alert at the driver side rear window and at the back seat inside the vehicle, the report said. A subsequent search found protective caps for hypodermic devices, foil with black track marks, a suspected methamphetamine pipe containing trace amount of meth, suspected heroin inside a red balloon, and several hypodermic devices.

Adams admitted to using heroin within the last two weeks after first denying use.

She was placed in handcuffs and transported to the Carson City Jail, where she was booked. Bail: $2,500.
