Carson City man jailed for suspicion of kidnapping and burglary

A 21-year-old Carson City man was arrested Sunday for suspicion of felony kidnapping, burglary and misdemeanor domestic battery, a Carson City sheriff's deputy said.

Jacob Bradley Withrow was booked at 8:50 p.m. in the 600 block of College Parkway after he allegedly abducted an adult female whom he has a child in common with, according to the arrest report. During the incident at a home near Adams Street, a female friend of the victim was allegedly shoved out of the way as Withrow was removing the victim from the residence.

The friend of the victim alerted authorities directly following the incident. When a Carson City Sheriff’s Office deputy arrived he observed furniture knocked over and a broken water glass on the floor, the arrest report states.

Deputies learned through the investigation that Withrow arrived at the residence and called the victim's female friend, telling her that she needed to send the victim out of the residence. The women locked all of the doors and ignored calls from the suspect.

The man then allegedly began to bang on the windows of the residence while yelling and screaming. A window was left unlocked and Withrow managed to slide it open and climbed inside, the report states. He then allegedly attempted to pick up the victim and carry her out of the residence. A struggle ensued as the friend attempted to intervene while the man was pulling the victim away, the report states.

According to the investigation, the man allegedly shoved the female friend out of the way and dragged the victim out of the home by her hair. That is when the friend called 911 as she watched Withrow throw the victim into the car and drive away.

CCSO deputies managed to track the man's vehicle to an apartment complex on College Parkway and once the apartment was identified they attempted to make contact with Withrow and the female victim. No one answered the door, but following verbal commands from deputies Withrow soon exited the apartment, a CCSO deputy said.

The female was found inside with her daughter and was uninjured. Withrow was arrested and taken to the detention center with a total bail amount of $123,000.
