Carson City Sheriff’s Office log: Deputies make arrests for felony warrants, DUI
A 56-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Sunday in the area of North Carson and Park streets for misdemeanor suspicion of DUI, failure to yield to a pedestrian and failure to maintain a lane of traffic, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
According to the arrest report, a deputy, while on another call, observed a vehicle driving erratically. The driver drove over a curb and onto the sidewalk of a store. After the officer finished the call he saw a female walking back to the vehicle, unsteady on her feet and stumbling. The officer then followed the vehicle southbound on North Carson Street.
He activated his light when the driver took a very wide turn. The driver eventually moved into the number one lane and nearly struck a pedestrian in the crosswalk at Long Street, the arrest report states.
The driver had thick, slurred speech and smelled strongly of alcohol. She told the officer she had been drinking wine. She agreed to standardized field sobriety tests and showed signs of impairment.
