Guide Cupid through the Comstock: Virginia City to host Valentine's saloon crawl
Hopeful sweethearts and couples alike can define their relationship this Valentine’s Day at the Devil Made Me Do It Saloon Crawl, Saturday, Feb. 13, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., in Virginia City, Nev. The commemorative crawl cups come in a series of colors that indicate the holder’s relationship status: single, taken or open to suggestions.
Crawlers receive a map of the more than 10 participating saloons, a commemorative cup, valentine-themed drink samples and discounted full drink orders at participating saloons throughout the day. Crawl cups are $20 for those purchased in advance online or $25 day of the event. In order to promote safe driving conditions, designated drivers can purchase “Cupid Cups” for $10 and receive free non-alcoholic drinks at participating locations.
“We’re excited to kick off the 2016 event season with this saloon crawl,” Deny Dotson, tourism director for Virginia City Tourism Commission, said. “It’s a fun way to spend Valentine’s Day weekend and a great opportunity to sample our new Cemetery Gin in our local saloons.”
A raffle drawing will be held at 5 p.m. in the Delta parking lot. Every purchase in a participating location earns crawlers a raffle entry for a chance at winning the grand prize. Drink purchases receive one raffle ticket, food items receive two tickets and merchandise purchases receive three tickets. Must be present to win.
For another opportunity to win, photos posted to Facebook, Instagram or Twitter using the hashtag #CrawlBackInTime enter crawlers to win two passes to any future 2016 Virginia City saloon crawl.
The Devil Made Me Do It Saloon Crawl is sponsored by Cemetery Gin, New West Distributing and Coors Light.
