Carson City Sheriff's Office says slow down, take it easy and exercise caution on snowy roads
It looks like winter driving conditions are finally here. We are expected to have blizzard like conditions in and around Carson City for the rest of the week. Carson City Sheriff’s Office encourages drivers to be responsible and exercise caution while driving.
If you absolutely must drive, here are some tips that might help.
— Slow down
— Prepare for your journey ahead of time
— Know your route
— Defrost your windows
— Slow down
— Wear your seat belt
— Watch for other drivers
— Slow down
Speed too fast for conditions (NRS 484b.603) is a standard violation issued to drivers involved in traffic accidents during winter driving conditions. In extreme weather conditions you may need to reduce your speed (even if you are traveling under the speed limit), to decrease your chances of being involved in a crash.
The Carson City Sheriff’s Office remains dedicated to bringing the number of fatalities on our roadways to zero through increasing public awareness about the dangers of driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol.
