Carson City Author Featured at Fall Festival and Chili Cook Off
The second annual Fall Festival and Chili Cook Off will return to the South Lake Tahoe Recreation Complex on Saturday, September 14, 2013. The event will begin at 10:00 am and run until 4:00 pm. Admission is free, and door prizes will be given away every fifteen minutes. There will also be a drawing for one hundred dollars cash, given to one attendee.
An Author's Corner will host local and visiting writers who will be signing their books. Among those attending will be featured author Liz Patterson, of Carson City, Nevada. Author of the highly acclaimed Bonners Fairy series, she is making a name for herself in South Lake Tahoe.
This is her second book signing with Golden Bear Events. Also in the Author's Corner are Debra Gauthier, one of the first female police officers in Las Vegas, signing her book Bright Lights, Dark Places; and authors H. Ray Goodenough and Kathy Rem, offering Parallel Journeys.
Jeanne Prestella of the Beachcomber Inn will return to defend her title of "Best Tahoe Chili" from last year's event. She will be challenged by several local restaurants, caterers, and chefs. The ever popular Cake Walk will also be enjoyed, with cakes from local bakeries given to the winners. Vendors will be offering goods, gift items, services, and information for fall and winter needs.
