Every holiday season for the past 20 years, reindeer sculptures have been created by local school children (an estimated 60,000 of them) under the tutelage of Willow Bill. Ask any participating teacher about Bill’s lessons in safety, math and associated topics, and they’ll share how enthusiastically their young students learn the lessons he shares.

A fundraiser for Willow Bill and his battle against cancer will be held at A to Zen on Sunday, December A from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Celebrating nearly three decades of turning the round, orange members of the squash family into memorable Halloween carving traditions, Seeliger Elementary School in Carson City will host its 27th annual Pumpkin Patch this Saturday, Oct. 12.

The Senior Celebration held Thursday at the Casino Fandango Ballroom in Carson City went off without a hitch with festivities including raffles, a cake walk, live entertainment, medical screenings and more.

Families braved crisp, chilly temperatures in the thirties Saturday morning to participate in the 26th annual Seeliger Elementary Pumpkin Patch Fall Festival in Carson City.

The thunderous roar of jet engines will rumble across the skies above Carson City and the Carson Valley this weekend as the famed U.S. Navy Blue Angels flight team headlines the 2018 Aviation Roundup at the Minden-Tahoe Airport.

Happy Friday Carson City! Today starts the sunny weekend ahead, with a high of 67 and cloudless skies.

On the books today is the Loud as Folk concert at the Brewery Arts Center, a tour of the Carson River, a morning walk of the newly opened Linear Ditch Trail, Moon Lectures, and more!

Calvary Chapel Carson Valley's Harvest Festival will take place on Oct. 31, with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. It is a warm and safe alternative to Halloween located at the Douglas County Fairgrounds on Pinenut Road.

Admission is a suggested donation of two unopened bags of candy per family. Free food, drinks, games, lots of candy, cookie decorating, a cake walk, entertainment and more will be available. Non-frightening costumes are encouraged. For more information, call Calvary Chapel at 265-3259.

Celebrating more than a quarter century of turning the round, orange members of the squash family into memorable Halloween carving traditions, Seeliger Elementary School in Carson City will host its 26th annual Pumpkin Patch this Saturday, Oct. 13.

Seeliger Elementary School in Carson City will celebrate its 26th Annual Pumpkin Patch Fall Festival on Saturday, Oct. 13 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

This year’s event will feature an amazing array of raffle prizes, dunk tank, craft fair, silent auction, cake walk, carnival games, Bouncy Castles, prizes, food, bake sale, Nevada-grown pumpkins, wagon rides, juggling demonstrations and lots of family fun. Celebrate Fall with a genuine Carson City tradition. The school is located at 2800 Saliman Road.

Tomorrow is the big day, but today offers a sneak preview if you’re willing to drive a little. Every year the town of Kings Beach, on the North Shore of Lake Tahoe, gets a head start on the festivities with a July Third Beach Bash and Fireworks Show. The Dayton Senior Center celebrates the holiday today with a BBQ, Cake Walk, BBQ and activities for all ages. The Children’s Museum of Northern Nevada gets in the patriotic swing during this week’s Storytime Adventure program: the Fourth of July is today’s theme.

Fourth of July celebrations abound in the Carson City area. Fireworks can be found in Carson City, Virginia City, Reno, Sparks, and at both north and south shore of Lake Tahoe. There are several daytime events going on this week so grab the kids, your friends and family, and have a great Independence Day.

Carson City Parks and Recreation is stepping up to the plate with pizza and a movie if you are looking for a way to get out without the kids in tow. You’ll want to register for Parent’s Night Out before all the spaces are filled. Hit the town and discover what new restaurants have popped up this last year. Enjoy live music at Living the Good Life, Bela Vita Bistro, or at the historic Genoa Bar. Teens are welcome at the Boys and Girls Club for a night of dancing, music, and a chance at raffle prizes.

Leaves turning, wind blowing, and all things pumpkin sprouting up everywhere. It is absolutely autumn in Northern Nevada. Get ready for Halloween with your choice of pumpkin patches. Seeliger Elementary School is hosting theirs for the twenty-fifth year in a row. Take a trip on the V and T Steam Train at the Nevada Railroad Museum, actually take several trips. The annual Harvest Train event offers an all-day wristband that allows for as many rides as you’d like, in addition to museum admission. So many more fun activities are available to you, you’ll have to read on to see them all.

It’s an old-fashioned Fourth of July Party at the Senior Center in Dayton, complete with a show-n-shine and yummy bar-be-que. Head up to Kings Beach in Lake Tahoe for the early-bird fireworks show and beach bash.

If you happen to be up very early on Saturday morning, you may just see some runners in the pre-dawn hours. The Reno-Tahoe Odyssey, a 178 mile relay, passes through Carson City on its way to Virginia City. A huge congratulations goes out to the Class of 2017; the Carson High graduates will get their diplomas today. It’s wine walk weekend, so downtown will be hopping with sippers, strollers, and plenty of summer fun. Keep reading, and you’re sure to find something to make this weekend special.

The weekend is here and you’ll find plenty to do in Carson City and the surrounding valleys. Run from zombies in Virginia City as the REDRUN obstacle race returns. Find the perfect pumpkin at the annual Seeliger Elementary Pumpkin Patch. The long-awaited Animal Shelter has been built and is now home to adoptable pets waiting for a home: take a tour at their open house after the 10 a.m. ribbon cutting. The fifth annual Fall Festival and Chili Cook Off will be on Saturday, September 17th, at the Recreation Complex in South Lake Tahoe.The event will open at 10:00 a.m. and run until 4:00 p.m. The Chili Tasting will be from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm.
Admission to the event itself is free and will offer a free drawing prize ticket to attendees.

The Fourth Annual Fall Festival and Chili Cook Off will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2015, at the South Lake Tahoe Recreation Complex. Admission is free to the event, and all attendees receive a free ticket for a door prize drawing. Vintage cars, a cake walk, vendors offering all manner of gift items, household furnishings, and personal care items will be available, as well as a number of drawing prizes.

Local authors and artists will participate, and the Lake Tahoe Humane Society, the Lake Tahoe Cancer League, and Christmas Cheer will be accepting donations.
