Heading into the weekend, there’s an abundance of activities around the capital city region over the next three days. The Brewery Arts Center hosts a female version of "The Odd Couple." Carson City's Greenhouse Project is hosting a lunch and dinner fundraiser toward a healthier State Capitol. Dale Poune will perform at Bella Vita Bistro, plus comedy at the Carson Nugget, the Nevada Caucus on Saturday, an open house at the historic Foreman-Roberts House, a Latin-themed concert at the community center and more. Nevada Author, Sandie La Nae, and Nevada Historian, Arline La Ferry, will be selling their newest book "Nevada's Oldest Hotel Gold Hill Hotel" at the Gold Hill Hotel on Saturday Feb. 22, 2020. From 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., books can be purchased and autographed by Sandie and Arline.

Genre's include the "Weird" volumes, co-authored with Special Works Historian, Arline La Ferry, and the "Historic-Paranormal" books, featuring historic and haunted buildings in the Carson City area.

Titles include: WEIRD - "Carson City," "Reno," and the "Virginia City Trilogy."

August continues with a Chautauqua presentation of Mary McNair Mathews and a presentation by author Brooke Santina at the Dangberg Home Ranch Historic Park.

On Wednesday, August 14, at 6:30 pm, Mary McNair Mathews, Comstock businesswoman and author of the book Ten Years in Nevada will be portrayed by Anita Watson.

Heading into the weekend, there’s a bevy of events around the Carson City region over the next three days, including the Carson City Fair, Karson Kruzers Run What Cha Brung car show, a fundraiser bike ride, cooking classes, tours at the Nevada State Museum, train rides on Saturday and much more!

SILVER CITY, Nev. — Acclaimed Nevada author Shaun Griffin will read from his new book of essays, "Because the Light Will Not Forgive Me," at the Silver City Schoolhouse on Sunday, July 28, 2 p.m. during a free, public event.

The Old West Trio returns to the Dangberg Home Ranch Historic Park this coming week in an evening concert, while two local musicians are featured at the park’s upcoming Neighbor Fair, an event highlighting Carson Valley’s non-profit organizations.

Sandie La Nae will be the featured author Saturday, June 1 at Morley's Books located at 201 W. King Street in Carson City.

La Nae, author of 19 books, will be featuring her volume written about the historic building that Morley's Books is housed in, "Wells Fargo Office."

Other books Sandie will be selling of her historic volumes include Buckland Station, St. Charles Hotel, Genoa Bar, Alpine Hotel in Markleeville, and those from her "WEIRD" series about Carson City, Reno, and Virginia City.

Nevada Humanities has announced the book selections for the 2019 Nevada Reads program.

Throughout 2019, Nevada Reads will feature three books, two nonfiction memoirs and one novel:

“Open a New World,” the fifth annual Nevada Humanities Literary Crawl, will take place Saturday, September 15, 2018 from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., featuring an exploratory afternoon and evening of fiction, non-fiction, and poetry readings, as well as panel discussions, book signings, and workshops.
