The Children's Museum is becoming the center of gravity for those enjoying live theater, performed by adults and by children.
The Carson City Proscenium Players is presenting "Thieve's Carnival" through March 20th. "Thieves Carnival" is a most unlikely story of what happens inside a palatial home with two very attractive young ladies living there. The estate is invaded by three thieving rogues, one of whom takes up a romantic relationship with one of the girls.
When things get more involved, the lucky thief none-the-less forsakes his love to remain with his comrades in thievery. However his disgarded lover will have none of it and proves to be a most wiley interloper who manages to pull out a most creative ending to the caper.
"Thieves Carnival" is playing March 12th, 13th, 19th and 20th, all 7:30pm start times. For tickets, call 884-2226 or 887-0438.
Then in April, the Wild Horse Children's Musical Theater presents the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.
The competition is intense. The words are hilarious. Let the spelling begin! The show centers around a fictional spelling bee in Putnam County, New York. Six kids face off in the battle of their lives.
They compete against each other as well as members of the audience. Three adults
help adjudicate the proceedings: a nostalgic former spelling bee winner, a
mildly insane Vice Principal and The Official Comfort Counselor completing his
community service to the state of New York.
Show times are 8pm April 9,10, 16, 17, 23, and 24th. 4pm on April 18th. Tickets are $18 adults, $15 for students and seniors. For more info, call 887-0438 or 884-2226.
