Pair arrested at Carson City drive-thru suspected of vehicle burglaries, using stolen credit cards
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Thu, 11/21/2019 - 5:28pmThe Carson City Sheriff’s Office Investigation Division has identified and arrested two suspects in numerous Carson City vehicle burglaries that happened in October and this month.
Over the past few weeks, the Carson City Sheriff’s Office has investigated numerous vehicle burglaries throughout the West and North sides of Carson City. Vehicle windows had been broken out and property was stolen. Surveillance videos from homes and businesses showed a male suspect.
Carson City Sheriff's SET arrests man for suspected drug trafficking

Another man was also arrested for alleged drug offenses.
Nevada Department of Public Safety appoints new Parole and Probation Division Chief

Carson City woman arrested after 'taking down' her husband following a dispute over an ex-girlfriend

According to the report, deputies were dispatched to a residence on report of a domestic battery, and dispatch advised the man had possibly been cut with a knife by the woman.

Nevada Dept. Public Safety commissions 17 new peace officers at academy graduation
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Sun, 11/10/2019 - 4:18pmRENO — The Nevada Department of Public Safety commissioned the state's newest Peace Officers at the Academy 86 graduation ceremony held Thursday, Nov. 7 at the Galena High School Theater.
Of the 17 graduates, 11 will join the Nevada DPS, Parole and Probation Division and 6 will join the Nevada DPS, Highway Patrol Division. The new Peace Officers will be assigned statewide.

Nevada Department of Public Safety conducts sex offender compliance operation in Washoe County

The primary objective of the operation was to verify NPP supervised sex offenders on probation for a period of Lifetime Supervision were residing at the address they provided to state and local authorities pursuant to sex offender registration mandates per Nevada law.
The focus of the operation was placed on personal observation of offenders at their registered address and verifying their reporting place of residence via contact with roommates, neighbors or landlords.
Couple arrested in Carson City store parking lot for fighting over and shaking child

A 19-year-old transient man and an 18-year-old transient woman were booked on child neglect/endangerment and domestic battery first after several concerned citizens called deputies to respond to a fight. The reporting parties stated there was a man and a woman physically fighting in the parking lot and pulling an infant from each other during the fight.

By all accounts, a month before his death he had been in fine health for a man of 76. He dealt with COPD and needed an oxygen tank to breathe in the high altitude of northern Nevada, but a check-up with his doctors during May of 2019 showed he was nowhere near the brink of death.
However, after being relocated to Carson City from Lyfe Recovery’s Reno facility, Joe’s medication was withheld and he was denied medical intervention after a rapid deterioration of his health, which ultimately, it is alleged, led to his death.

Rudy Alexander Jimenez was taken into custody at 7:46 p.m. According to the report, deputies scanned Jimenez’s car and it returned with a stolen license plate warning from dispatch.

According to the report, Thomas Raymond Brown, 32, was booked on the additional offenses after deputies were collecting trays during morning meal times in Male General when they heard a verbal argument in the Trusty POD.
