Carson City deputies make arrests for parole violation, alleged drug possession
A 40-year-old man was arrested early Wednesday morning at a south Carson City motel for alleged felony parole and probation violation, a sheriff's report states.
Joseph Harvey Fontaine was taken into custody after deputies were called to a verbal dispute at a motel in the 2700 block of South Carson Street. According to the arrest report, deputies spoke with a woman outside the door of a motel room.
Deputies asked the woman if she had heard anyone in the area arguing. The female stated she and her boyfriend had been arguing. Deputies spoke with the man, who identified himself. He stated he was on parole with the state of Nevada had had arrived in Carson City that night from Reno, according to the report.
Nevada Parole and Probation was contacted, which advised he was in violation. Dispatch advised CCSO to arrest him for parole and probation violation. He was taken into custody at 12:47 a.m. He's being held without bail in lieu of a hearing.
In other arrests:
— A 29-year-old Reno man, Michael Francis Harris, was arrested early Wednesday, 2:15 a.m. for suspicion of felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to the arrest report, deputies were dispatched at 1:55 a.m. to a fast food restaurant in the 3100 block of Highway 50 East for a welfare subject check.
Dispatch was advised a man had been parked in the parking lot for around 3 hours with the engine running. A deputy arrived and made contact with the driver, who was sleeping and asked him what he was doing. The man said he came to Carson City to gamble, then went to get food and ended up passing out in the vehicle, the report states.
While speaking with the man, the officer observed a glass tube with residue lodged between the driver seat and center console. The officer asked the man to step out of the vehicle.
The man would not consent to a search of the car but consented the officer to grab the tube, which was a methamphetamine pipe. The pipe was tested and the residue confirmed methamphetamine in the pipe, the arrest report states. He was arrested for alleged possession of methamphetamine and paraphernalia. Bail: $3,637.
