Carson City arrests: Driver suspected of being under influence of pills jailed after crash
A 64-year-old woman was arrested Wednesday for suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs, gross misdemeanor possession of prescription drugs without a prescription, failure to yield and other charges, a Carson City sheriff's deputy said.
According to the arrest report, deputies were called at around noon to the intersection of Roop and Second streets in reference to a vehicle crash. Deputies on scene suspected the driver of a Nissan wagon may have been under the influence of an unknown substance, the report states.
During the course of the investigation, deputies learned the woman, whose hometown residence was not provided in the report, had no proof of insurance or registration to the vehicle. Based on the crash investigation, it was determined the woman failed to yield at a stop sign resulting in a crash, the report states.
The woman identified herself and was asked what happened. She advised she was driving west on Second Street and drove past the stop sign on Roop, colliding with another vehicle.
The deputy observed the woman's speech was slurred and she had a difficult time staying focused. She was asked if she took any prescription medication. She advised did. The woman consented to field sobriety tests and showed signs of impairment. She was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs.
During an inventory of the vehicle, deputies located 3 pills in a container that did not match prescription pills she had on her person and what she said she had been prescribed. The pills found are prescription only.
At jail she was read the Nevada Implied Consent and she agreed to a blood draw. Total bail amount listed: $4,598.
— A 27-year-old man, Sean McKay Larson, was booked Wednesday into Carson City Jail for a felony parole and probation warrant issued July 29, 2019 from the Nevada Parole Board. Larson turned himself in on the warrant at the Carson City Jail, arriving at the jail booking counter at 11:20 p.m. He's being held without bail in lieu of a hearing.
— A 30-year-old Dayton man, Blaine Bo Sutton, was arrested early Thursday in the 3100 block of Highway 50 East for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance.
According to the arrest report, a sheriff's deputy was called to the parking lot of a fast food restaurant at around 5 a.m. regarding a suspicious vehicle parked outside.
The deputy made contact with the man and asked him what he was doing during non-business hours. Deputies conducted a pat down for weapons. The man consented to a search of his vehicle.
Deputies located paraphernalia consistent with heroin use, including hypodermic needles, foil and Narcan. He consented to a search of his pockets and contents. Deputies located approximately one-tenth of a gram of heroin inside a multi-colored case in his left pants back pocket, the report states. He was arrested for suspicion of drug possession, a felony. Bail: $2,500.
— A 20-year-old Carson City woman was booked Wednesday, 2:10 p.m. for a misdemeanor failure to appear warrant issued July 15, 2019 out of Carson City Justice Court. The woman turned herself in on the warrant. Bail: $250.
— A 35-year-old Carson City man was arrested Wednesday, 4:27 p.m. in the area of West Second and Division streets for a misdemeanor warrant alleging violation of a suspended sentence. the warrant was issued May 9, 2019 out of Carson City Justice Court. bail: $3,000.
