Carson City Sheriff's arrest log: Deputies serve warrant, book man for meth possession

A 27 year-old man wanted on an outstanding misdemeanor bench warrant was arrested Friday night at 7:45 p.m. in the 3900 block of South Carson Street on additional charges of felony methamphetamine possession, a Carson City Sheriff's deputy reported.

Austin Wayne Rivers of Carson City was taken into custody Friday after Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to a South Carson Street business to serve a Nevada Highway Patrol traffic warrant on him issued by the Fernley Municipal Court in Lyon County, the arrest report said.

Rivers was familiar to law enforcement due to prior contacts and he was visually identified as deputies entered the business. A deputy called out the suspect's name and Rivers turned to face the officer.

The suspect confirmed his identity and was detained in handcuffs. The arrest warrant was confirmed through Carson City Dispatch.

In a subsequent search of the suspect, deputies located a methamphetamine pipe and a container holding a testable amount of substance inside of it, the report said.

The substance field tested presumptive positive for meth, the report said.

Upon being Mirandized, Rivers stated the pipe was used for meth and he confirmed the substance in the container was meth.

Rivers was subsequently transported to the Carson City Jail for booking without incident. Bail: $4,257.

— A 37 year-old Reno woman was arrested early Saturday morning at 1:55 a.m. in the 3800 block of South Carson Street for misdemeanor obstruction, a Carson City Sheriff's deputy reported.

According to the arrest report, a Sheriff's deputy responded to a business in the area on report of a female crying in a restroom following a domestic altercation with another female, found seated outside of the restroom.

Property security reported that the female inside the bathroom was afraid to come out as long as the other female was there.

Both Carson City Sheriff's deputies and Washoe Tribal Police responded to the scene, the report said.

Authorities made contact with the female seated outside of the restroom and she identified herself. She then stated that nothing happened between them.

A deputy then made contact with the female inside the restroom. She identified herself and reported that she and the other female were leaving a residence on Washoe Tribal Land when her female companion physically battered her and grabbed her around the throat, the arrest report said.

The victim did state that no physical altercation had occurred within the jurisdictional boundaries of Carson City. Washoe Tribal Police investigated the alleged battery reported to have occurred on tribal land.

During the on-site investigation, the suspect's attitude was notably observed to diminish to open hostility, the report said.

She proceeded to stand up and advance toward the bathroom where the victim was standing, but the deputy stopped the suspect and directed her to sit back down.

"You can't hold me here," the suspect said to the deputy. "I got to piss."

She continued walking toward the deputy, who responded by placing his hands on her shoulders to halt her advance, the report said.

The deputy directed the suspect to calm down and have a seat, explaining that she could not go into the bathroom at the moment while he questioned the victim.

At that point, the suspect began using profanity and told deputies not to touch her.

Another deputy explained to the suspect that if she would just sit down and move towards the victim, they would not have to stop her.

Then the suspect balled her fists and yanked her arms away from the deputies, shouting "Bitch please!"

Her muscles now rigid and pulling her shoulders back into an aggressive stance, the suspect continued her attempt to advance toward the bathroom, the report said, despite multiple requests by law enforcement to back off.

Deputies warned the suspect that she would be placed in handcuffs if she did not sit back down.

She responded by yelling that she should have already been placed in handcuffs. At that moment, a deputy informed her that she was going to be handcuffed, the report said.

Deputies then attempted to detain the suspect, who pulled away at first. A brief struggle followed before officers safely placed the suspect into handcuffs.

The suspect refused to speak either to deputies or tribal officers on scene about the alleged battery.

She was subsequently transported to the Carson City Jail and booked. Bail: $300.

— A 19 year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday morning at 3:52 a.m. in the area of Oxoby Loop at Mills Park for giving marijuana to a person under the age of 18, a gross misdemeanor, and misdemeanor contributing to the delinquency of a minor, a Carson City Sheriff's deputy reported.

According to the arrest report, a traffic stop was made on a red Ford pickup for suspended registration. Contact was made with the male driver and a juvenile female in the passenger seat.

An odor of marijuana was detected coming from the vehicle, the report said, and the male suspect admitted to having smoked marijuana.

The vehicle occupants were asked to step out of the vehicle and a K-9 unit was called in to perform an exterior sniff, which resulted in a positive alert.

A search of the vehicle recovered a used marijuana joint, the report said.

The minor female voluntarily spoke with deputies, the report said, waiving her juvenile Miranda rights and declining to have her parents present.

The girl told officers that she and the male went to Mills Park to meet up with friends. She said the male supplied her with a marijuana joint that they had smoked together.

Deputies later transported her to juvenile detention for curfew violation and because they were unable to locate a responsible parent for her, the report said.

The male suspect was subsequently handcuffed and transported to the Carson City Jail for booking. Bail: $2,123.

— A 31 year-old Gardnerville man was arrested Saturday morning at 4:20 a.m. at the Carson City Jail on a pair of outstanding bench warrants, a Carson City Sheriff's deputy reported, including one for felony domestic battery.

Ryan David Draucker was currently an inmate at the Carson City Jail when Douglas County faxed two confirmed arrest warrants for him to the detention.

One was an active warrant for felony third-offense domestic battery and the second for misdemeanor coercion, the report said.

Both warrants, issued by the East Fork Township Justice Court in Douglas County, were added to Draucker's booking charges. Bail: $21,000.
