Camp Richardson at Lake Tahoe brings family tradition to holiday dining
Camp Richardson, South Lake Tahoe’s only lakefront holiday dining for under $24 is at The Beacon. Recognized for decades as a family destination, historic Camp Richardson is authentic Tahoe. It’s beachfront location, long tradition and hearty holiday menu help keep the meaning alive.
The Thanksgiving menu at The Beacon features a pre-fix feast with a truffled butternut squash soup with wild mushroom and pancetta garnish; fresh cranberry and pumpkin seed salad with roasted apples, blue cheese, blueberries, candied pecans and sherry vinaigrette; roasted turkey with herbed-pan gravy, sausage stuffing, sweet potato soufflé, broccoli-cheese gratin and cranberry sauce. Finish your meal with a pumpkin vanilla crème brûlèe. The holiday menu is from 1-6 p.m. for just $23 for adults and $13 for children.
Thanksgiving kicks off a series of meal celebrations. The Beacon’s inaugural beer pairing dinner with 21st Amendment Brewery, Monday, Nov. 26. A five course dinner including diver scallops, shitake tortellini, beer brined skirt steak, fried goat cheese crusted lamb chops and espresso chocolate mousse, has been carefully paired with the best beers. The dinner starts at 6:30 p.m. and is $50 a person.
The Christmas Day menu at The Beacon offers a spinach and crab ginger soup, a salad braised Belgian endive with a candied almond crumble, and an entree choice: roasted shrimp and seabass, cranberry stuffed pork chops or slow roasted prime rib. Dessert is your choice of a triple truffle chocolate torte or pecan torte with maple ice cream. Dinner entrees range from $25 to $39 and will be served from 1-6 p.m.
As 2012 comes to a close the restaurant celebrates New Year’s Eve with a rocking evening with a special dinner and midnight champagne toast, Dec. 31. The holiday menu features a lobster and scallop bisque, salad of black pepper and balsamic marinated strawberries with arugula and shaved parmesan cheese, and an entree choice of lobster thermador or blackened porterhouse with a dessert of crepe suzette. Dinner is $69 per person and served from 5-10 p.m.
