Annual Carson City Feast of Chocolate re-imagined due to COVID, scholarship donors sought

Our goal is to continue to provide scholarships for deserving young women in their pursuit of educational advancement.

Several fundraisers, including the annual “Share Your Christmas” Food Drive will be available throughout the Carson City, Minden and Reno areas on Friday. You can visit the North Pole safely as part of a drive-thru Santa's Village experience at V&T Railway in Carson City, beginning Friday into the weekend. A living nativity scene will be featured at First United Methodist Church on Saturday and Sunday. Combined with train rides in Virginia City, the state capital will be buzzing with excitement. Anyone who bought tickets ahead of time can get reimbursed or have the money donated to the Carson City Symphony Assoc. At the end of the live-streaming at Facebook.com/CarsonCitySymphony, people can stay on and see the newly released video of Sweelinck's "Hodie Christus natus est" by the Carson Chamber Singers.

All guests will receive a free 8-inch turkey sandwich, stuffing, cranberry sauce and more.

SlotWorld donated $15,000 to Holiday with a Hero, which pairs children in need with law-enforcement officials and first responders for a $100 shopping spree at Walmart.

Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, pie, and more are all served up by local volunteers including those from FISH, the Carson City Board of Supervisors, the Carson City Sheriff’s Office, and dozens of cheerful community members lending a helping hand.
