Polish delegation to visit Carson City, Sierra region as follow-up to summer trade mission
Northern Nevada Development Authority will host 42 business leaders and government officials from Poland on Thursday who will visit Carson City among several stops as a follow-up to Gov. Brian Sandoval's European trade mission this summer.
The delegation of 42 members will tour Northern Nevada and explore opportunities for expansion into the West Coast market of the United States. Along the Carson City area stops will be CGI Inc., Polam Precision Machining and Adams Hub for Innovation.
"We're excited a delegation is coming from Poland to see what Northern Nevada has to offer," said Robert Hooper, Executive Director of NNDA. "This is the second time this year NNDA has hosted a delegation from Poland. Polish companies are interested in the Sierra region because of the economic similarities to their country. While it will take time, we are hopeful several Polish companies will establish their United States Operation here in Northern Nevada."
Several regions in Poland are growing similar to Northern Nevada, specifically in the areas of medical technology, science and technology research, advanced manufacturing and unmanned systems. With such similar economic interests it makes sense for Poland and Northern Nevada to work together. Several companies in Poland are looking to establish a presence in the United States and are exploring the opportunities Northern Nevada has to offer.
Nevada is an ideal location for European companies to locate their United States operations because of our favorable business climate, lower start-up costs and a lower cost of living than California, as well as our central proximity to the entire western United States. Companies expanding to the Sierra Region can service the California market without the hassle of California taxes and regulations.
The Delegation includes Aleksander Czechowski, Marta Smulkowska, and Vice Marshal Arkadiusz Bratkowski with the Marshal's Office of the Lubelskie Voivodeship, Miroslaw Jablonski from the Medical University of Lublin, Hubert Debski from the Technical University of Lublin, and Ryszard Debicki from the University Marii Curie-Sklodowska. The delegation also includes company representatives from target industries such as manufacturing, information technology, drone technology, and distribution. Also attending is one of Europe's market leaders in the development, marketing and distribution of high quality aluminum systems.
Polam Precision Machining Inc. and Nevada Rural Housing Authority is sponsoring the delegation's visit.
