The featured speaker at Monday's Democratic luncheon will be Tim Hanifan, primary candidate for Nevada District 2 of the United States House of Representatives. He is one of seven candidates on the Democratic side. His rivals include Joseph Afzalk, Michael Doucette, Gerold Lee Gorman, Brian Hansen, Rahu Joshi and Elizabeth Mercedes Krause. The Nevada State Public Health Laboratory at the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine has characterized the first known Nevada case of the new B.1.1.7 coronavirus strain. The new strain was detected in a sample that was initially tested in the Southern Nevada Public Health Laboratory.
