NNDA is the state-designated Regional Development Authority for Nevada's Sierra Region: Carson City as well as Storey, Lyon, Douglas, and Mineral counties.
Established in 1981, the Northern Nevada Development Authority is a nonprofit corporation that helps to grow and strengthen the region’s economic ecosystem, and facilitates business-to-business resources to support existing businesses.

Nevada to receive $13.8 million workforce development grant

Carson City Mayor Robert 'Bob' Crowell dies

Robert L. "Bob" Crowell was a native Nevadan, born in the mining town of Tonopah and raised in Carson City. An attorney by profession, Bob was a Vietnam Veteran and retired Navy Captain. He was elected Mayor of Carson City in 2008 and assumed his duties as Mayor on January 5, 2009. He was re-elected in 2012 and 2016. Prior to being elected Mayor, Bob served 11 years on the Carson City School Board of Trustees.

Stimulus Program Information
The coronavirus relief bill passed March 27 by Congress provides payments to individuals who make less than $100,000 a year. The payment total $1,200 for each adult who makes $75,000 or less, plus $500 per child. The payment amounts decrease if you make between $75,000 and $99,000. The income is determined by your latest tax return filed with the IRS. It will use your 2019 taxes if you have filed them already, or your 2018 taxes if you haven't. At the Board of Supervisor’s meeting on Aug. 1, a presentation was held to discuss a possible joint contract between the three entities, for the creation of a Business Retention and Expansion program, which would be funded by the Hop and Mae Adams Foundation.
