Carson Nugget salutes active duty, veterans with free Al Stewart concert tickets
CARSON CITY — In honor of Veterans Day, the Carson Nugget is offering two free tickets for its Al Stewart concert on Saturday, Nov. 10, at 9 p.m. to active duty service members and veterans. These tickets also get service members and veterans and a guest into the meet-and-greet with Stewart at 8:30 p.m.
"This is our way of giving back to our veterans who have given and sacrificed so much for us," said Dean DiLullo, owner and general manager of the Carson Nugget. "We are so excited to have Al Stewart performing in Carson City, and think it will be a great show for all attendees, especially our veterans."
To claim the tickets, veterans and active duty personnel should call the Nugget Marketing Office at 775-882-1626 ext. 752 this Friday by 5 p.m. to get their names added to the list for admittance to the concert. Please bring your military ID when checking in for the concert.
Singer-songwriter Stewart came to stardom as part of the British folk revival in the 1960s and 1970s and developed the combination of folk-rock songs with delicately woven tales of the great characters and events from history. Stewart has 19 studio albums between “Bedsitter Images” in 1967 and “Sparks of Ancient Light” in 2008, plus the live album "Uncorked" with Dave Nachmanoff in 2009.
Stewart continues to tour regularly around the U.S. and Europe. He is perhaps best known for his hits ‘Year of the Cat’ from the platinum album of the same name and the platinum follow-up album ‘Time Passages.’ His career spans four decades as a key figure in British music.
General admission tickets for this concert, which also features a 7 p.m. showing, start at $25/person at CCNugget.com. The free ticket offer for active duty military and veterans is only available for the 9 p.m. show.
