Carson City area weather: Sunny and breezy through Wednesday, chance of rain late in the week
Mild afternoons are expected around Carson City through the weekend with a southwest flow bringing breezy conditions Sunday through Monday and setting up a pattern of unsettled weather for later in the week with a chance of rain and high elevation snow, according to the National Weather Service.
Low pressure will deepen off the West Coast this weekend bringing windy conditions with gusts up to 35 mph in Carson City on Sunday and up to 40 mph by Monday, according to the weather service. Temperatures will also remain a few degrees above average. Any wet weather is expected to stay north of Reno and Carson City.
Tuesday and Wednesday will be sunny and breezy with highs in the upper 60s to near 70, with the next round of low pressure bringing the possibility of valley rain and high elevation snow beginning late Thursday.
As this weather system begins to build, there's a better chance for valley rain and high elevation snow late Thursday night into Friday. For the time being, Nevada Day, Saturday, looks to be a day between weather systems, with another system possibly arriving by late Sunday.
