Carson City arrests: Woman jailed for allegedly hitting boyfriend with frying pan

A 35-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Friday for suspicion of domestic battery after allegedly hitting her boyfriend with a frying pan, a sheriff’s deputy said.

The woman was arrested at 11:40 p.m. in the 1700 block of North Carson Street. According to the arrest report, deputies had been with the woman and man on two prior occasions at a Corbett Street residence that night in reference to a domestic dispute.

At around 11 p.m. deputies were called to a North Carson Street residence for a report of domestic battery. The male told dispatch that his girlfriend hit him with a frying pan and locked him out of his residence.

Upon arrival the deputy observed the man and woman arguing outside the residence. The man stated he left the Corbett residence and came to the North Carson Street location to get away from the woman at the advice of deputies from the prior call, the arrest report states.

The man further stated the woman came over to the residence, began to pound on the door and windows demanding her keys. The man stated he opened the door to attempt to talk with the woman and that she pushed her way into the residence, the report states.

The man told deputies he attempted to stop the woman from getting into the residence by grabbing her by her left ankle. The man stated the woman pulled away and continued into the residence. The man told deputies he attempted to explain to the woman that he did not have her keys but that she wouldn’t listen, according to the report.

He stated this escalated to the point where the woman grabbed a frying pan with food in it and hit him on the left shoulder. The man did not have injuries but he did have food all over the right side of his jacket.

Deputies interviewed the woman who stated that she went to the residence and asked the man for her keys. The woman stated she did not pound on the door or windows and further stated that she knocked on the door and sat in front while yelling the man’s name. She stated the man came out of the residence and grabbed her by the ankle for an unknown reason. She further stated she never went into the residence.

While interviewing the woman, the deputy observed she had one flip flop on her right foot. The officer asked her where the other flip flop was and she stated she did not know. When the officer entered the residence, he observed a frying pan and spilled food all over the floor and walls, and located the left flip flop partially under a dresser next to the bathroom.

The deputy photographed the scene and returned to the woman and explained that the evidence inside would suggest she was in the residence at one point. She stated she was not inside the residence, the arrest report states. She was arrested for suspicion of domestic battery and taken to jail. While in booking, the woman’s right flip flop was taken as evidence. The flip flop had a smashed bean from the food in the pan on it, putting her inside the residence after the food was thrown, which contradicted her story, the arrest report states. Bail: $1,137.
