Carson City Sheriff's arrest log: Man arrested for domestic battery, felony drugs

An 18 year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday morning at 8:45 a.m. in the 600 block of Hot Springs Road on felony drug possession charges along with misdemeanor first-offense domestic battery, a Carson City Sheriff's deputy reported.

Hunter Logan O'Neal was taken into custody following a domestic dispute call to which a Sheriff's deputy was dispatched.

Upon arrival at the scene, the deputy made contact with the suspect, victim and a witness.

O'Neal, the suspect, reported that the victim had thrown a rock at his vehicle during an argument.

The witness stated he was awakened by O'Neal and the victim yelling at each other. As he observed the scene, the witness said he did see the victim throw a rock in the direction of a vehicle, the report said.

The witness further reported that he observed O'Neal grab the victim around her neck with his right forearm and around her waist with his left forearm. O'Neal was then observed lifting the victim off the ground and carried her from the driveway to the front entry to the apartment building, the witness stated in the arrest report.

In observing the victim, the deputy noted reddening on the left side of her neck. At that point, O'Neal was detained in handcuffs and taken into custody.

Upon transport to the Carson City Jail, a search of O'Neal was performed outside of detention. Deputies located two small blue, oval-shaped pills wrapped in plastic on his person, the report said.

A cross-check of the pills showed they were alprazolam, a Xanax generic, requiring prescription.

O'Neal did not provide a prescription for the pills in his possession, the report said, so the felony charge of possession of a dangerous drug without a prescription was then added to his booking into the jail. Bail: $2,500.

In other arrests:

— A 22 year-old transient man was arrested Friday afternoon at 12:06 p.m. in the area of Robinson and Plaza streets on an active felony bench warrant issued by the Lyon County District Court, a Carson City Sheriff's deputy reported.

Travis Dion Bobbitt was taken into custody after he was observed by a Sheriff's deputy running through a red light on a skateboard, causing two vehicles with the right-of-way to react in order to avoid hitting him.

The deputy then stopped the skateboarder, identified a Bobbitt, a records check of whom confirmed an outstanding felony arrest warrant for grand larceny of a firearm.

Bobbitt was handcuffed and transported to the Carson City Jail and booked without incident. No bail.

— A 39 year-old Carson City woman was arrested Friday afternoon at 12:38 a.m. in the 4500 block of North Carson Street on a pair of misdemeanor offenses, a Carson City Sheriff's deputy reported, including ex-felon failing to register and disorderly conduct.

According to the arrest report, a Sheriff's deputy was dispatched to a business on North Carson Street on report of a subject who was refusing to leave the premises and was reportedly harassing customers.

Upon arrival, the deputy located a female subject matching the description provided by dispatch laying on the sidewalk in front of the business.

As the deputy made contact with the subject and attempted to identify her, she responded that her name was "Una, a messenger of God."

When the officer prompted her for identifying information, she replied that she has been in prison, so he should know. The suspect reported she has been living on the streets in Carson City for over a week, the report said.

The suspect eventually provided her name and date of birth, with which the deputy then ran a records check through dispatch, which confirmed a class A felony conviction January 2006.

She was handcuffed at that point and transported to the Carson City Jail for booking. Bail: $150.

All information for the crime log (unless otherwise noted) comes from the arrest reports supplied by the Carson City Sheriff's Office, and is considered by law to be public information. All subjects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. The policy of Carson Now is to name anyone who is arrested for a felony offense.
