Carson City sheriff's deputies make suspected DUI, drug arrests
A 52-year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday night near the area of Appion Way and Center Drive for suspicion of DUI first and using an improper right turn, a sheriff's report states.
According to the report, Carson City deputies observed a silver truck make a right turn onto Silver Sage from Clearview. The truck made a wide turn and crossed over the center lane. The vehicle again crossed the center lane and impeded the white fog line multiple times.
Deputies conducted a traffic stop after the truck “continued to swerve” on Appion Way. Deputies noticed that the driver had “red, watery eyes and slurred speech” and the smell of an unknown alcoholic substance was coming from the vehicle.
The man advised he had “one drink” and deputies conducted a field sobriety test for which he showed several signs of impairment. He volunteered a PBT sample and yielded a .127 percent PBT.
Deputies placed the man under arrest for DUI, he was transported to the Carson City Jail without incident. Bail: $1,224.

A 60-year-old woman was arrested near the area of the I-580 Arrowhead Exit in Carson City for alleged fictitious registration, driving with a suspended license and possession of a dangerous drug without a prescription, a sheriff's arrest report states.
According to the report, Carson City sheriff deputies conducted a traffic stop Friday afternoon on a car that had expired license plates. Deputies met with the Reno woman and dispatch advised her license was suspended for multiple failure to appear charges.
The woman gave consent for deputies to search the vehicle. During the search, deputies found two prescription bottles containing Gabapentin. She stated that the pill bottles “belonged to her son” and she had the intention of getting rid of them, the report states.
She was booked for suspicion of driving with fictitious registration, driving with a suspended license and possession of a dangerous drug without a prescription, a gross misdemeanor. Bail: $3,249.
