Carson City deputies arrest 8 during Independence Day

A 20-year-old Carson City man was arrested in the 2400 block of N. Carson Street for possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and a felony warrant for assault with a deadly weapon and home invasion.

Gary Allen Dillishaw was arrested at a local RV park after Carson City deputies were called to assist on a home invasion arrest with Douglas deputies.

Deputies located Dillishaw where he was detained and transported to the jail.

On the way to the jail, deputies noticed a clear plastic baggie fall from Dillishaw’s waist, which contained a white residue. On the backseat where Dillishaw was sitting, they also noticed white crystals.

No bail.

— A 20-year-old Carson City man was arrested by Special Enforcement Team deputies in the area of Saliman and Evans for driving without a valid driver’s license, driving without proper brake lights, and driving without proof of insurance.

According to the report, deputies were on patrol in the area of Rand Avenue and William Street when they observed a vehicle heading west on William with a broken brake light. Deputies recognized the man from a previous interaction in which he was cited for driving without a valid driver’s license.

When deputies spoke with the man, he admitted he still had not gotten a license, and he could not provide insurance for the vehicle. He provided paper registration for the vehicle, which was registered to another man who was not present.

He was arrested for driving without a license. While the vehicle was being impounded, the owner of the vehicle arrived on the scene. Deputies cited him for allowing the man to drive his vehicle without a license. The vehicle was then impounded.

Bail: $991

— A 39-year-old Carson City man was arrested int he 3900 block of Gordon Drive early Thursday evening for a parole and probation violation after drinking with a no alcohol clause.

According to the report, the man’s wife called stating she was “not okay and wanted help.” She said she and her husband had gotten into a verbal argument about private relationship matters.

Deputies made contact with the man, who had red watery eyes and slow slurred speech. He provided a preliminary breath test which resulted in a .123 percent BAC.

He was arrested and transported to the jail.

No bail.

— A Texas man was arrested in the area of Lompa and Highway 50 on a Douglas County warrant as well as improperly displaying a license plate.

Deputies stopped the man after seeing the vehicle’s front license plate was not securely fastened to the vehicle, causing it to hang approximately six inches above the pavement.

The man refused to provide deputies with insurance and registration and said they “could only look at his license and not take it back to (their) patrol vehicle.”

Eventually, the man gave deputies his Texas driver’s license, which dispatch advised had a $500 warrant out of East Fork, issued on April of 2016.

When advised of this, the man became uncooperative and began yelling and screaming, tensed his muscles and jerked back and forth.

He was taken into custody on the warrant as well as improperly displaying a license plate.

Bail: $707; $500 cash only

— A Carson City man was arrested late Thursday night in the 500 block of E. Long Street for domestic battery first.

Deputies were dispatched to the location after someone alerted dispatch that her mother had called to say her father was beating her.

When deputies arrived, they made contact with the woman and her husband. The woman told deputies everything was okay and they were not fighting.

Deputies spoke to the man, who told deputies to leave, and that he and his wife had had too many beers.

Deputies noted that the woman had a black eye.

The man was taken to the jail, and provided a preliminary breath test which resulted in a .231 BAC.

Bail: $3,137

— A Carson City man in custody at the jail was additionally booked for violating bail conditions after calling a victim he’d been ordered to have no contact with.

According to the report, deputies listened to the man’s phone log, and on July 3 he made a call to the victim. The victim told him the phone calls were being monitored and he needed to not call her due to the court ordered no contact clause. The call lasted four minutes.

The department of alternative sentencing requested he be arrested on violation of bail conditions.

Additional bail: $3,000 cash only

— A transient woman was arrested in the 4900 block of August Drive Thursday evening for violation of bail conditions after going inside a man’s house she was ordered to have no contact with and refusing to leave.

She was taken into custody and booked for violating her bail conditions.

Bail: $3,000 cash only

Warrants:

— A Reno man, John William Bissard, who is in custody at the Carson City Jail was additionally booked on a felony warrant out of Washoe County for failure to appear on a grand larceny hearing.

No bail.

UPDATE THURSDAY: The Washoe County Regional Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the two people who died Wednesday morning following the two vehicle crash on I-580 in Carson City. They are Alejandra Hernandez Valtierra, 36, and Viola Santoyo Huizar, 48, both of Carson City.

UPDATE 12:42PM: Southbound I-580 in Carson City was opened as of around 11 a.m., said a Nevada State Police spokeswoman, who provided more details of the fatal crash that happened early Wednesday morning.

Both the driver of a car and a truck involved in the crash died. Their names have not been released pending notification of family members. The car, which was going the wrong way — northbound in the southbound lane — struck the truck and caught on fire, according to a NSP preliminary investigation thus far. The vehicle makes are unknown at this time.

Dayton Elementary School in Lyon County was honored Wednesday along 13 other schools including Carson High in Carson City as a Nevada Purple Star School.

Schools receiving the designation have committed to supporting the educational and social-emotional needs of military-connected children and their families.
