Carson City Sheriff's Office arrests: Man jailed for suspicion of third DUI
A 38-year-old man was arrested early Sunday morning for suspicion of a third or more DUI offenses, driving on a revoked license and illegally parking, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
Jim Sr. Dave Lucero, of Reno, was arrested in the 4100 block of South Carson Street at 3:23 a.m. According to the arrest report a deputy patrolling the area of Highway 395 and Koontz Lane observed an illegally parked vehicle that was partially in the eastbound travel lane and outside the paved shoulder area.
The sedan’s headlamps were illuminated and there was a passenger side door opened. As the deputy began to turn around, the vehicle took off and began traveling rapidly and accelerating ahead of the officer. The deputy attempted to catch up to the vehicle in the 4100 block of South Carson Street where it stopped with the suspect driver getting out of the vehicle and going into a convenience store, the arrest report states.
The deputy made contact with passengers in the vehicle, and the suspect driver who emerged from the building after a few minutes. The officer could smell an odor of alcohol on the man’s breath and he showed signs of intoxication. The officer asked for his driver’s license.
The man gave the deputy his Nevada ID card identifying him. The deputy asked how much he had to drink. The man stated four beers. He was asked if he would consent to field sobriety tests. He agreed and showed signs of impairment.
During the preliminary breath test the man blew a .183. He was arrested 3:23 a.m. At jail he refused to provide evidentiary testing. A judge was called and a search warrant to obtain evidentiary blood samples was obtained. A records check of the man showed he had multiple prior DUIs, including a felony conviction out of Carson City. The records check also revealed his driving privilege in Nevada was revoked. Bail: $20,709.

— A 39-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Sunday, 2:35 a.m. in the 300 block of North Carson Street for suspicion of gross misdemeanor indecent exposure. According to the arrest report, a deputy in the area doing a business check exited a bar through the patio. The deputy stopped outside the gate of the bar patio to talk with a group of citizens. While speaking the deputy could hear a female voice yell she was going to urinate, the arrest report states.
The deputy turned around to see who yelled and saw a female in the back corner of the patio bent over at the waist. The deputy observed her unbutton her pants and hunch over. The deputy approached the female to see what was going on. The deputy asked the female what she was doing. She said the bathrooms in the bar were full so she came out to the patio to urinate. In the corner of the patio the officer observed a large puddle. She was arrested for suspicion of indecent exposure. Bail: $2,500.
— A 24-year-old Carson City man was arrested Sunday, 1:23 a.m. in the area of 3 Lane Circle on a misdemeanor petit larceny warrant issued May 5, 2017 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $5,000.
— A 20-year-old Carson City man was arrested Sunday, 12:07 a.m. in the area of North Carson Street and Adaline for a misdemeanor violation of suspended sentence warrant issued May 4, 2017 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $1,000.
— A 51-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday, 5:19 p.m. in the 3000 block of North Roop Street for misdemeanor suspicion of DUI and turning in the middle of an intersection, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
According to the arrest report, a deputy observed a tan colored sedan turn north onto Roop Street from westbound Long Street. The vehicle turned into the No. 1 northbound lane then immediately swerved into the No. 2 lane The deputy caught up to the vehicle at Stewart Street. It continued northbound.
The vehicle then pulled into the parking lot of a convenience store where it stopped. The officer contacted the driver and could smell an odor of alcohol. The man said he drank two beers prior to driving. He was asked to take standardized field sobriety tests where he agreed and showed signs of impairment, the report states. He submitted to a preliminary breath test with a .155. He was arrested for suspicion of DUI. Bail: $1,224.
— A 39-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday, 7:09 p.m. in the 1400 block of Rand Avenue for a misdemeanor warrant, violation of a suspended sentence, issued May 3, 2017 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $3,000.
