Nevada Small Business Development Center kicks off 'Support Small Business 5-Day Challenge' this weekend
The Nevada Small Business Development Center is pleased to announce a social media campaign to support small businesses across the state. The campaign, Support Small Businesses 5-Day Challenge, gives everyone a way to support small businesses from the safety of their home.
The six-part video series will consist of an announcement video this Sunday, April 26, with a daily challenge to follow on each of the five days during the rest of the week. The challenge will include tagging small businesses on social media, purchasing gift cards, writing online reviews and sending caring messages to small business owners.
“The Support Small Business 5-Day Challenge campaign began as an idea from the North Central Iowa SBDC office,” Lisa Shumkat, America’s SBDC Iowa State Director, said. “It was developed further and we reached out to statewide partners, as well as other Small Business Development Centers across the nation to promote the campaign. We’re excited to promote a way for everyone to support all types of small businesses from the safety of their home. Our hashtag for the campaign also has an encouraging message of #Back2Biz.”
Campaign videos will be available daily, from April 26 through May 1 at https://www.facebook.com/NevadaSBDC and https://twitter.com/NevadaSBDC.
America’s SBDC Nevada also has a COVID-19 Small Business Resiliency Guide available at https://nevadasbdc.org/business-resiliency-plan.
Nevada SBDC’s 14 regional assistance centers are located strategically across the state, serving Carson City, Douglas County, Elko, Ely, Fallon, Hawthorne, Mesquite, Las Vegas, Laughlin, Pahrump, Reno and Winnemucca. Each center is fully staffed and trained to assist small business owners with their questions and concerns during this challenging time. Nevada SBDC is funded in part through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration. Since the program’s inception in 1985, the SBDC has helped Nevada businesses and entrepreneurs through no-cost, confidential, customized, professional business counseling and practical, affordable training workshops.
All services are extended to the public on a non-discriminatory basis. Reasonable accommodations for persons with mental or physical disabilities will be made if requested at least two weeks in advance. Language assistance services for clients with limited English proficiency will be provided. Contact the Nevada SBDC State Office at (800) 240-7094 to make arrangements.
