Carson City parks foundation announces logo design competition
The Foundation for Carson City Parks and Recreation seeks an original logo to visually brand or identify the Foundation and conveys its support for Carson City's many and diverse parks, open spaces and recreational facilities.
The logo will be employed in signage, for the Foundation’s Internet and social media presence, in documents and publications, and in any other place the Foundation has a need to brand or demonstrate a connection to itself.
Although entries from students are particularly encouraged, the design competition is open to anyone interested in participating. Individuals or teams may submit a design or designs.
The winning entry will receive a cash prize of $100, a Foundation membership, recognition in the media and at the Foundation’s annual community service awards ceremony, a certificate commemorating the award, the right to be identified as the logo’s designer(s), and the right to include the logo design in their portfolio.
Detailed competition rules, specifications, and entry forms may be obtained by emailing the Foundation at carsonparksfoundation@gmail.com, no later than April 30, 2018. Logo designs must be submitted as specified in the rules in the contest rules no later than May 31, 2018. The Foundation plans to select the winning entry at the June 2018 meeting of the Foundation’s Board of Directors.
About the Foundation
Founded in 2015, the Foundation is a non-profit member-driven 501(c)(3) organization created for charitable and educational purposes related to parks and recreation in Carson City. FCCPR is dedicated to bringing together members of the Carson City community to encourage and enable public support for the continuing enhancement of Carson City's numerous and diverse parks, open spaces, and recreational facilities.
The Foundation provides an umbrella under which various organizations and citizens can come together to explore innovative ways to promote and facilitate their activities. It assists organizations with similar goals to promote their projects and acting in a fiduciary capacity the Foundation helps its members manage and protect monies raised for their projects.
Currently the Foundation provides fiduciary assistance to projects for the restoration of missing headstones in Lone Mountain Cemetery, for improvements to the Centennial Park tennis courts, for the development and maintenance of the soon to open Eagle Valley Disc Golf Course and improvements scheduled for dog parks at Fuji and Sonoma Parks. In addition, FCCPR manages the historic Wungnema House in Mills Park under a lease from Carson City.
