Carson City Sheriff's Office arrests: Man jailed on felony embezzlement warrant from 2010

A California man was booked Monday into Carson City Jail on a felony embezzlement warrant issued in 2010, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

Gordon Gabe Murray, 47, of Long Beach, Calif., was brought to the Carson City detention center to face the charge. The warrant was for the crime of embezzlement between $250 and $2,500, a category C felony with a $10,000 bond. The warrant was issued out of Carson City Justice Court on Sept. 15, 2010.

In other arrests: A 40-year-old California woman, Deann Michelle Burmen, was arrested Monday, 9:06 a.m. in the 2300 block of Bunch Way on a felony fugitive from justice warrant issued out of Placer County, Calif. The warrant stems from allegations of identity theft. She’s being held without bail awaiting extradition.

— A 21-year-old Dayton man, Precious Allen McGilvary, was arrested Monday, 9:04 p.m. in the area of North Roop and Northridge Drive on suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and having a hypodermic device, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

According to the arrest report, deputies were called to the area for a report of a man on the ground and not moving. An officer arrived and found the man in a sitting position on his feet. He was swaying and appeared to be “on the nod” or under the influence of heroin, the arrest report states.

The man identified himself with a Nevada temporary driver’s license. As he pulled out his wallet a white metal spoon fell out. The officer could see brown residue on the spoon. The officer asked if he had any knives, needles or sharp objects on him. The man replied he had syringes in his back pocket and said he may still have some heroin in his cigarette pack. The deputy removed the pack of cigarettes and found a small piece of paper wrapped around a small amount of suspected heroin. He was arrested on the charges. Bail: $4,774.

— A 23-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Tuesday, 11:57 p.m. in the 400 block of Lee Street on a misdemeanor warrant, violation of a suspended sentence. Bail: $3,000.

— A 30-year-old Carson City man was arrested Wednesday, 3:09 a.m. in the 1200 block of Woodside Drive on a misdemeanor probation violation. The man called 911 and asked for a deputy. The deputy arrived and the man admitted to drinking, saying he was on probation and wanted to go to jail. He willingly provided a preliminary breath test with a result of .234, the arrest report states. Bail: $3,000.

— A 20-year-old transient was arrested Monday, 2: 13 p.m. in the 3700 block of South Carson Street on a misdemeanor warrant for violation of a suspended sentence and suspicion of petit larceny. According to the arrest report, a deputy was called to a grocery store after a man was detained for attempting to steal approximately $80 in alcohol. Dispatch advised he had a confirmed arrest warrant from Feb. 25, 2016. Bail: $3,352.

— A 25-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Monday, 4:16 p.m. in the 3200 block of Market Street on a gross misdemeanor charge of possession of dangerous drugs without a prescription and misdemeanor petit larceny. According to the arrest report, the woman was seen by loss prevention placing several items in her purse and then walked out of the store without paying. Inside the woman’s wallet a deputy found several white Hydrocodone caplets. Bail: $2,852.

— A 23-year-old Carson City woman was booked into Carson City jail on misdemeanor charges of violation of pre-trial supervision, and two counts contempt of court. Bail: $4,000.

— A 51-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Tuesday, 5:50 a.m. in the 400 block of North Pratt Avenue on a misdemeanor charge of violation of a suspended sentence. According to the arrest report, the woman called 911 dispatch to advise she was intoxicated. When officers arrived she had a preliminary breath test of a .264. She was on a suspended sentence with a no alcohol clause, one of several in the probation conditions. Bail: $1,000.
