Northern Nevada Zero Fatalities campaign partners to provide no cost Lyft ride credits
Zero Fatalities has expanded its partnership with Lyft by teaming up with local businesses and organizations committed to eliminating impaired driving fatalities in Northern Nevada.
Lyft has pledged $50,000 in free ride credit to be distributed during major consumption holidays to support the coalition’s campaigns that promote safe transportation options throughout the region.
Impaired driving has been a consistent problem in Nevada and is a common cause of motor vehicle crashes resulting in injuries or death, according to Zero Fatalities, a statewide law enforcement motorist safety campaign.
In 2017, there were 99 impaired-related fatalities. As the only state with 24-hour alcohol access, and the legalization of marijuana in 2017, Nevada has a number of factors that contribute to a high number of impaired-related fatalities.
“We are excited to expand the coalition to the entire great state of Nevada,” says Zero Fatalities representative Andrew Bennett. “We are grateful for Lyft’s commitment and our community partners participation in the coalition. Together, we can make Zero Fatalities a reality in Nevada.”
The DUI coalition is comprised of community leaders in various industries with a shared goal of eliminating impaired-related fatalities by increasing the visibility and accessibility of safe ride alternatives.
Partnership contributions include integrated campaigns, dedicated in-venue signage, social media promotions, events and community outreach throughout the year.
