Carson City man arrested for throwing football-sized rock through car window
A 45 year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday morning at 11:27 a.m. in the 800 block of East William Street for gross misdemeanor property destruction, a Carson City Sheriff's deputy reported.
According to the arrest report, a Sheriff's deputy responded to private property destruction call at an apartment complex and met with the victim, who stated her neighbor had thrown a rock through the driver's side window of her vehicle.
There was glass damage observed to the driver's side window and windshield. A dent in the vehicle's window frame was also observed.
The victim, who estimated the damage to cost about $2,500 for repair, also showed the deputy video footage of the incident that she had recorded, the report said.
The video footage showed a male, identified by the victim as the neighbor she alleged, grabbing a football-sized rock from a planter, walking to the victim's vehicle and throwing it through the driver's side window.
Footage also showed the male suspect walking into an apartment and then leaving moments later, the report said.
Just as the deputy was wrapping up the victim interview, a male matching her description and the suspect on the video footage was observed returning to the apartments.
The deputy then made contact with the male suspect, who identified himself. He was the same person identified by the victim.
The suspect was handcuffed at that point, placed in custody and transported to the Carson City Jail for booking without incident.
Bail: $2,637.
