Carson City deputies make arrests for suspected meth and pill possession, warrants
A 30-year-old man was arrested Wednesday for suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, a Carson City sheriff's report states.
Raul Shawn Orellana was taken into custody at 3:47 p.m. in the area of West Washington and North Minnesota streets. According to the arrest report, deputies were called to the area for a suspicious subject following children, acting odd and walking up to a home that wasn't his.
A responding deputy located the male and made contact with him, in which he identified himself. He was patted for weapons. The deputy felt a glass pipe, commonly used for smoking methamphetamine, in his upper left shirt pocket, the report states.
The man was detained and the pipe was removed with a small amount of meth residue inside. Deputies located a second glass pipe with meth inside. He was arrested. At jail deputies located a small "dime bag" containing suspected meth hidden under his sock. Bail: $3,774.
— A 37-year-old man was arrested Wednesday, 1:05 p.m. for an outstanding warrant alleging gross misdemeanor carrying a concealed weapon and misdemeanor harassment. The warrant was issued in October 2018 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $5,000.
— A 22-year-old Gardnerville woman was arrested Wednesday for gross misdemeanor suspicion of possession of dangerous drugs without a prescription.
According to the arrest report, a deputy was called to assist the assistant sheriff with a vehicle stop after a report that the driver had been smoking marijuana while driving and was possibly under the influence of driving while on drugs.
The driver was read her Miranda warning and was asked if she would consent to standardized field sobriety tests to make sure she was safe to drive. The woman consented to the field sobriety tests and did not show any clues of impairment, the report states.
While conducting the tests, a K9 conducted a free air sniff of the vehicle. The woman told deputies she had two hydrocodone pills in a bag from two years ago that are hers that she uses them for migraines. She stated she did not have a prescription bottle for the pills. Deputies located the pills in a clear Ziplock bag. Bail: $2,500.
— A 58-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Wednesday, 6:17 p.m. in the 2400 block of Table Rock Drive for a misdemeanor warrant alleging petit theft. Bail: $250.
