Carson City sheriff’s log: Deputies make three domestic battery arrests since Wednesday

A 48-year-old Carson City woman was arrested early Friday on a misdemeanor charge of domestic battery after she allegedly hit her boyfriend and then punched a door, breaking it off its hinges, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

According to the arrest report, deputies were called to a residence in the 1500 block of East Long Street for a domestic battery. Officers made contact with the victim who had injuries to his face. He advised he and his girlfriend got into an argument in which she hit him in the face. As he was trying to calm her down, the victim stated the woman punched the door and broke it off its hinges.

Deputies made contact with the woman who was uncooperative and was undressed. A female deputy assisted in getting the woman to put her clothes on. The suspect had a very strong odor of alcohol and had a cut on her right finger consistent with hitting the door. The man dropped his insurance and registration papers multiples times as he was talking to the officer, the report states. The deputy could smell a strong odor of alcohol coming from the man’s breath. The suspect admitted he had consumed two beers. Dispatch confirmed his license had expired Jan. 29, 2016. The man was asked if he would voluntarily conduct standardized field sobriety test. The man agreed and did not complete the test with satisfactory results, the report states.
