Becker jumps up to take Second Round lead in Korn Ferry Tour Qualifier at Dayton Valley

DAYTON, Nev. — The wind blew from the opposite direction and temperatures dropped in the second round of Stage One Korn Ferry Tour Qualifying at Dayton Valley Golf Club. And players felt the effect as scores rose higher than in the first round and the veteran players in the field took advantage.

The Capital City Arts Initiative presents its exhibition, "Saludos Amigos" by artist Justin Favela at the CCAI Courthouse Gallery. The exhibition is in the gallery now through Jan. 29, 2020, at the Courthouse, 885 E Musser Street, Carson City. The exhibition is free and the public is cordially invited. The second-floor gallery is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Carson City arrests: Woman jailed, allegedly switched price tags on merchandise

A 35-year-old Carson City woman was arrested in the 3200 block of Market Street for misdemeanor petit larceny and criminal contempt of a suspended sentence after allegedly switching price tags on several pieces of merchandise, a sheriff's deputy report said.

— A 34-year-old transient woman was arrested in the 800 block of North Roop Street on 13 charges including grand theft auto, hit and run, eluding, and assault with a deadly weapon.

Nicole Lee Katz was arrested after deputies were dispatched to the Carson City Aquatics Center for a report of a stolen vehicle.

A 51-year-old man was arrested Monday for suspicion of misdemeanor DUI and driving without a valid license after allegedly striking a vehicle in a parking lot and then passing out, according to a Carson City sheriff's deputy report.

Pair from Bakersfield, Calif. arrested for allegedly trafficking methamphetamine into Carson City

A pair from Bakersfield, Calif. were arrested in the 3800 block of S. Carson Street early Friday morning for allegedly trafficking methamphetamine, and prohibited people in possession of a gun, among other offenses.

Harvey Mahoney, 31, and Aimee Negre, 36, were arrested around 3:30 a.m. after deputies were walking through the parking lot of a local S. Carson Street casino when they made contact with the pair.

Healthy Communities Coalition announces its new initative to host representatives from different veterans resource groups once a month at each of its volunteer-powered food pantries in Lyon County. TMCC Veterans Upward Bound shared information at the Yerington Food Pantry on September 18th.
