Dayton man jailed in connection to hit and run that killed pedestrian walking dogs

An arrest has been made after tips led to a suspect in the Thursday morning hit and run crash that killed a Dayton resident and five dogs, according to the Lyon County Sheriff's Office and the Nevada Highway Patrol.

The following images released Thursday afternoon by the Lyon County Sheriff's Office are of a "vehicle of interest" in the hit and run vehicular homicide that occurred on Six Mile Canyon Road in the Dayton area on Thursday morning, in which an adult male pedestrian and five dogs died.

UPDATE: The Lyon County Sheriff's Office released three photos it calls a "vehicle of interest" in Thursday morning's fatal crash in the Dayton area in which an adult male walking five dogs was struck and killed in a hit and run crash. A 27-year-old Carson City man was arrested in the area of S. Carson Street and E. 5th Street Thursday afternoon for suspicion of felony attempted commercial burglary and possession of a dangerous drug without a prescription.

Zachary Kane Sisler was arrested after Carson City deputies were dispatched to a report of a burglary in progress.

Dayton man killed in motorcycle crash on SR-207; cause of crash unknown

On Sunday, July 28, 2019, at approximately 7:58 PM, NHP Troopers were dispatched to a serious injury crash on SR-207 and Douglas County mile marker 1 involving a motorcycle.

Preliminary investigation shows that a black 2017 Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling eastbound on SR-207. For an unknown reason, the motorcycle overturned and both driver and passenger were ejected.
The driver (Carlos Esparza, a 56-year-old Dayton resident) succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at an area hospital.
