UPDATE: Due to weather concerns, the Pirate Pup Parade will be moved indoors outside of the Black Box Theater at the Brewery Arts Center. The film showing of "Hook" will be held in the BAC Performance Hall. Food Trucks will be outside in the parking lot.

Going into Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2019, we're looking at a slight chance of showers with highs in the upper 60s around the Carson City region. Looking ahead there's art workshops and showings, as well as the Scallywaggers Pirate Pup Parade, Wheeled Food Wednesday and outdoor showing of the film classic "Hook" at the Brewery Arts Center, acrylic pour jewelry making at Rustically Divine, Salsa dancing and more.

The upcoming Board of Supervisor’s meeting will be held on Thursday, Sept. 19 beginning at 8:30 a.m. in the Sierra Room of the Carson City Community Center located at 851 E. William Street.

On the table for discussion are grant funding for the Sheriff’s Office, a new public guardian, and several new subdivision discussions.

Meet the Author at the BAC is a free event Thursday, Sept. 2th, 5:15pm, open to the public. Sandie La Nae, author of “Weird Carson City” will talk about her book with PowerPoint presentation, and have copies available for purchase and to autograph.

The event is September 12th, 5:15pm at the ballroom at the Brewery Arts Center, 449 King Street, Carson City, Nev. The public is welcome, and beverages and wine benefiting the Brewery Arts will be available for purchase.

There's a remembrance this evening at the 911 Memorial at Mills Park beginning at 6 p.m., hosted by Carson City Christian Ministerial Fellowship. Also today is a health screening available through Carson Tahoe Health and Wellness, art workshops and showings, a farm to fork tour in Douglas County, Wheeled Food Wednesday at the BAC and more.

The next Carson City outdoor summer movie night is Sept. 18 including food trucks, a pet costume contest and the classic childhood pirate movie, “Hook.”

CARSON CITY — The Beatles Flashback is coming to the Brewery Art Center’s performance hall on Sept. 28, 2019 at 7 p.m. to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Abbey Road, which was originally released Sept. 26, 1969. Come by the BAC to hear some of your favorite Beatles hits as we celebrate 50 years of the Fab Four.

Looking around the Carson City area for Thursday there's art showings, a Muscle Powered hike, a Partnership Carson City training and lunch and then a vigil to recognize and prevent opioid overdose and more.

Carson City Symphony Association announces the Joyful Noise Carson Children’s Choir will begin Fall Semester rehearsals on Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 10, 4 to 5 p.m., at the Brewery Arts Center Ballroom, 449 W. King Street in Carson City.

Coming up on Thursday, August 22, 2019, we can expect continued sunny skies with a daytime near 90. Among upcoming events: Thursday is the final day of the Jukebox International Film Festival at the Carson City Community Center. Take in a film screening and talk to the filmmakers who made them. There's a Polka Dot Powerhouse Carson City lunch connect at Red's Old 395 Grill, plus Food Truck Thursday at Mills Park and a volunteer expo hosted by Leadership Douglas County. There's also a discussion about aviation history and trends at the Nevada State Museum, a Carson City GOP information meeting on Block Chain technology, Jazz and Beyond music festival events and more. The Brewery Arts Center in Carson City brings a triple-shot of music, food and film as it combines its wheeled food Wednesday event with the Jazz and Beyond festival and an outdoor viewing of the Oscar-winning classic 1960 musical "West Side Story."
