Heading into Wednesday, June 12, 2019 means we are half way through the work week. Temperatures will be around the 90 mark with a chance of afternoon showers. This year, the Creative Kids Camp at Carson City's Brewery Arts Center is exploring nature through arts and crafts. Children can create a variety of items inspired by nature including garden stepping stones and rock accents.

The Carson City Symphony's 35th annual Pops Party concert will be held this Sunday, June 9, 2019 at the Capital Amphitheater, in the park between the Capitol and Legislature buildings.

The Carson City Symphony, lead by David Bugli, will be joined on the program by singer-songwriter Tom Miller and the Carson City Symphony Chorus, led by interim director Ricky Hutton.

Hello Carson City as we welcome Tuesday, June 4, 2019. Events and activities abound, from yoga, walks and a bike ride, to art showings and a jewelry making class. Heading into a jam-packed weekend of events around the Carson City region, there's a bevy of activities Friday to get your started. Lace up your shoes for a morning walk at Riverview Park, and then head on over to the Nevada State Museum for a coin press demonstration, and tours that explore anthropology and Nevada history. Later there's a cruise night gathering at Carson Mall to benefit Safe Grad Night, an Italian dinner fundraiser at the Governor's Mansion to benefit Carson City's homeless, live music at Living the Good Life and A to Zen, laughs at the Carson Comedy Club, and much more. The Brewery Arts Center is looking to enlist a few great volunteers to help this Saturday, June 1 clean up and beautify the two block campus as we prepare for the Levitt AMP Carson City free summer concert series presented by The Change Companies which begins on June 22 and Wheeled Food Wednesday which begins on June 19.

Is it the middle of the work week already? That's what a 3-day holiday weekend brings. Epic Rides announced Tuesday that Keller Williams and the Hillbenders are the Saturday evening headlining act at the Four Peaks Brewing Concert Series during the Carson City Off-Road mountain bike event on June 28-30, 2019.

The talented and friendly Andrew Sullivan is coming to the Brewery Arts Center’s Performance Hall on May 25 at 7 p.m. to play a live show for Carson City. Come hear him play his great songs like “Where You Are,” and “Chickens in the Yard” and see why his fans are joining “The Chicken Club.”

Another picture-perfect Carson City day awaits as we head into Monday, May 13, 2019. We're looking at mostly sunny skies with daytime highs in the low 80s. Coming to Carson City on Friday, May 17, the Brewery Arts Center Celtic Series features The Sophie & Fiachra Trio who will perform in the Maizie Harris Jesse Theatre.

The Sophie & Fiachra Trio are a group of “musiciens sans frontieres' who refuse to let the Atlantic sunder their love of their own and one another’s Irish and Québecois musical traditions.”

Comprising of Irish uilleann piper Fiachra O’Regan, Québec fiddler/singer Sophie Lavoie, and guitarist André Marchand, the trio take traditional Irish and Québécois traditional music, blended with Lavoie’s “lithe and masterful” compositions. Their choice of songs will “captivate the most casual listener”

Good day Carson City and welcome to Wednesday, May 8, 2019. We're looking at another day of sunshine and afternoon highs in the low 70s. We have activities throughout the region today, including a history presentation in Dayton, a Holocaust memorial service at the Governor's Mansion, art classes, live jazz and more. We want to send a big birthday "shoutout" to our outdoor editor emeritus Don Quilici, who turns 85 today. Don and his wife, Elaine, remain active, maintain healthy walks and hikes around the region and have plans for yet another Alaska outback trip this summer. Happy Birthday Q!

The capital city will celebrate Tinseltown, classic cinema and raise money for Carson City school art programs at the 5th annual Hollywood Gala on Saturday, May 18 with the theme "A Star is Born" hosted by Carson City Classic Cinema Club.

As the sun is starting to emerge in Carson City, so too are the bicycles. “I’m already hearing from people that they’re getting their bikes out of the garage,” said Randy Gaa, president of Muscle Powered, the nonprofit organization dedicated to a walkable and bikeable community.
